eJuice Review 374: Murphy by Outrun Vape

So, I am one flavour in with my Outrun Vape reviews, and I’m pretty impressed so far. I know it’s a little early to call, but both of the flavours that I’ve tried have been really good. Smooth and flavoursome, simple solid juices done just right.

“Deckard” was a surprisingly great mix, displaying Outrun’s attention to detail as well as their skill in layering and getting individual flavour levels right so that they combine with other notes without any unpleasantly dominating notes.

This next review is of a flavour profile that in my opinion is typically overflavoured, and can really run amok against other flavours.

Let’s see what we’ve got!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Murphy” by Outrun Vape.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Butterscotch, sweet and buttery, just as you would expect. Much like Robocop himself, this flavour does things by-the-book.

The Review:

Continueing along with Outrun Vape’s branding and theme, comes “Murphy”, the beloved character from Robocop, saved from an early demise by being given a mechanical body, making him the ultimate Police Officer! This movie was a huge deal years ago, whilst the special effects may not be up to today’s standards, in 1987, it was the latest and greatest!

As I mentioned earlier, Butterscotch vapes tend to be really overflavoured, so much so, that they get tiring really quickly, and unfortunately get passed up by many due to their bad experiences.

Well, this one is completely different.

“Murphy” is an expertly mixed juice, with the Butterscotch blended just right, smooth and buttery, hitting the flavour intensity superbly without being too strong, or introducing any unwanted flavours.

Individual Notes

There’s not a lot going on here to warrant a run down of the individual notes, butterscotch is butterscotch, and if you’re not familliar with it, it is basically a caramelized brown sugar, sweet with a little richness. This one is buttery, with a little bit of a cream added helping to smooth it out.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale and exhale are very similar, with the inhale obviously being less intense than the exhale, and introducing the vape with the brown sugar sweetness, and leaning into a little richness before the turn to the exhale.

On the exhale, the flavour intensifies, that richness giving way a little to a thicker mouth feel, a buttery cream, that is smooth as well as sweet, not heavy, but a lighter feel than most. That slightly burnt sugar flavour finishes off the exhale, pushing you to take another vape, of that buttery goodness!

Final thoughts

This is probably one of the best butterscotch flavours that I have tried, quite a strong flavour, but not over the top. It is thick, buttery, creamy, and of course sweet, but doesn’t wreck your coils or wicks!

Do beware, butterscotch gets in everything. The flavour and smell sticks, and you’ll notice it every so often even if you’ve washed your tank and put another flavour in. After vaping it gets stuck in your nose and you’ll be smelling it for hours!
Not that this is a bad thing of course, if you love butterscotch, but a warning all the same 🙂

Great job on an old classic guys!

Presentation:

I love Outrun Vape’s branding. I don’t often approach vendors and offer to do reviews, but I just couldn’t help myself with Outrun. Their branding has a really cool retro/futuristic style with neons and pre millennium film references.
I received black plastic unicorn bottles with child-proof caps, needle tip dispenser, with really cool retro labels. The labels have all of the information you’ll need on them including: PG/VG ratio, juice name, logo, warnings, even an 18+ R Rating!

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
