eJuice Review 351: Mint Sliced by Sydney Vape Co

Here’s a juice that I’ve seen a little bit of hype about. If you look up Sydney Vape Co on most social media, you’ll come across multiple good reviews and mentions about this one. It’s probably one of their most talked about juices.

Let’s see what it’s all about!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Mint Sliced” from Sydney Vape Co
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description:

An Australian vape flavour inspired by a tea-time favourite, take a bite out of Mint Sliced – a rich chocolate biscuit with a slice of mint and a cream finish.

The Review:

This one is one of Australia’s favourite biscuits next to the Tim Tam, everybody remembers these things from their childhood, Granny would spoil you with Yo-Yo biscuits, and various other “dry” cookies, and when mum and dad weren’t looking, slide some of these in front of you. It just made them that little bit tastier, knowing that you weren’t supposed to have them!

Typically a mint slice biscuit is a milk chocolate coated biscuit with a layer of peppermint cream inside of it, giving it that unique minty cookie flavour.

“Mint Sliced”, the eliquid, I’m proud to say is a very good rendition of the original, with a cocoa cookie feel, milk chocolate and the perfect peppermint finish.

Individual Notes

The chocolate here might throw you a little, depending on how you remember mint slice cookies to be. It is more of a slightly dry dark chocolate, a little bit of cocoa, rather than the usual milk chocolate that might pop into your head. It’s at a pleasant consistency without going overboard, minimising the harshness of the cocoa.

The biscuit is very light, more of a graham cracker feel, if you pick up on it.

The peppermint that is used, just like the chocolate, is just at that perfect level, allowing you to enjoy both the chocolate and mint side by side, without either dominating the other.

Inhale & Exhale

This one is a little different than other mint slice flavours that I’ve tried. With others, I’d tend to get more chocolate on the inhale, and the minty freshness purely on the inhale.

This one is similar with one exception. I pick up a light chocolate, or more of a cocoa note on the inhale, but also some of the peppermint! It’s not a lot at this point of course, but it’s interesting that both flavours come through very early on, it gives this juice more of a traditional mint slice feel rather than biting into a mint biscuit, and getting that peppermint only once your teeth have sunk into the middle.

The exhale sees everything intensify, with the chocolate still retaining the same level of cocoa as it did on the inhale, but getting a little more chocolatey and a lot thicker, I’m suspecting a little bit of cream is giving this some extra texture.

The peppermint then really kicks in toward the end of the exhale, bringing this choc mint vape to a lovely finish.

Final thoughts

I’ve quite liked this one, with one exception. I’d have liked a little bit more of a milk chocolate feel. Perhaps not milk chocolate, but more of that milky consistency, rather than the dryish cocoa that appears throughout. The cocoa is important, but can dull some of the sweetness of a mix and dry things out, rather than the expected gooey texture we’ve all come to love. Perhaps even a touch of a marshmallow or a sweeter chocolate might make all the difference.

All in all, this was a wonderful vape, and totally easy on my coils. Over the 2-3 days vaping I’ve not had to change wicks either, which is a huge plus, and puts this one right up there for mint chocolate flavours.

Well done guys!
