eJuice Review 350: Melon Heaven by Sydney Vape Co

Wow, time has flown, I’m already down to the last few flavours from Sydney Vape Co! So far I’ve been pretty impressed with their mixes, they’ve been true to their descriptions, expertly designed, and most important of all, tasty!

The range is fairly comprehensive, with a profile to suit almost every vaper, branching from desserts, to fruits, even mints, and exotic drinks! The one I’ve got “in hand” at the moment, is a melon mix, exotic fruits, yes please!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Melon Heaven” from Sydney Vape Co
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description:

No melon left behind. Watermelon, rockmelon and honeydew sitting over a bed of fresh creamy custard goodness.

The Review:

A triple melon mix is not the easiest mix to make, as they each have differing levels of flavour, and also completely different strengths and weaknesses. Honeydew is a polarising flavour. It can dominate really easily, where Watermelon and Rockmelon are background or base flavours, that need complimentary flavours added in order to make them shine.

Not to worry though, as Sydney Vape Co have done a good job of combining the three, “Melon Heaven” is a strong Honeydew and vanilla mix, with light backnotes of watermelon and cantaloupe, layering this flavour out with smooth custard/cream, smoothing out the melon textures and keeping them in check.

Individual Notes

Honeydew – this is the guts of the juice. This honeydew is smooth, sweet, with a slight earthiness giving it that distinct flavour. It’s the primary note in this juice, and together with the cream, make for quite the pairing.

I don’t notice the watermelon and rockmelon so much. More the watermelon that seems to mix well with the honeydew, adding a sweet lighter watery feel to it, a refreshing feel if you will. The rockmelon (cantaloupe) appears to be a little non existant. It makes a small appearance during the exhale, but no more than that.

This cream is light, and I’m guessing that it’s meant to be. Melons can be easily dominated, so Sydney Vape Co have opted for a light vanilla custard and cream rather than going full on dessert on me! Great choice, as the sweetness of the vanilla and texture of the cream work really well with the dominant honeydew.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I notice first and foremost, the Honeydew. It’s quite strong, yet not at it’s full flavour intensity at this point. Along with the honeydew, I pick up on a little bit of watermelon, the rockmelon seems to be evading me.

As the exhale begins, the honeydew intensifies, leaving the watermelon behind and really becoming the dominant note. I notice a little bit of cream appear, there is a light vanilla or custard note to it, but it is quite subdued. The cream is sweet with a thick but light texture that smoothes out the honeydew and takes a little bit of the bitterness out of it.

I feel like there is the tiniest bit of rockmelon or cantaloupe appearing through the cream right now. It’s quite a low earthy note, almost rising from the background, only to fall back in with the other flavours very much immediately. If you blink, you’ll miss it unfortunately.

Following on the exhale, all of the melons with the exception of the honeydew seem to disappear away, where I’m left with a light yet smooth custard cream/honeydew profile to finish off the vape.

Final thoughts

I’ve quite liked this one, granted, there seems to be a lot of Honeydew based juices out there, and the profile has been done tonnes of times before, it is a good mix. The honeydew is quite strong against the other melons, which I would have liked to see more of, but this melon and cream mix is still tasty, flavour packed and smooth.

I’ve not noticed any degrading of wicks or coils, which is a great thing, also the flavour is still just as strong now as it was two days ago. Hows that for longevity! I usually tire of flavours well before the two day mark!

If you love your honeydew, get on this, it is your kind of profile!

Sydney Vape Co have floored me with their presentation. So far they are the only Aussie company that I know of that supply their bottles of eliquid in separate boxes.

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 ET coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
