e-Juice Review: Frozen Fruit Salad from Priority Blend’s “Chilled” Range

Weeelcome back folks, It’s the middle of the week, and that means it’s time for another review! As you know, I started taking a look at the Priority Blends “Chilled” range at the beginning of the week, and today I’m going to continue on with another flavour.

If you’ve been living under a rock, Priority Blends have been around for some years, initially starting out with a handful of flavours back in 2016, which expanded to 25 or so flavours that they have available today, including this “Chilled” line. You can find their e-liquids in most vape stores across the country, and with flavour profiles that range from fruits, to desserts and even Licorice, you’re bound to find something you adore.

Anyway, let’s get back to this “Chilled” range!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Frozen Fruit Salad” from Priority Blend’s “Chilled” range of e-liquids.

(This eliquid was supplied by Priority Blends for review. )

Flavour Description

[From the website]
Frozen Fruit Salad.. Frozen Fruits apple, mango, nectarines and boysenberries with extra added sweetness.

The Review

Frozen fruit salad. Sounds fantastic, and it absolutely is. My first impression of this flavour sent my taste-buds through the roof. It truly is an impressive flavour!

I have just realised something, after going through the description of this, as well as several other flavours available from Priority Blends, I’ve just concluded that this range, is several of Priority Blends original flavours, reformulated with a Chill! How I missed that, I have no idea.
My point with that, is that this flavour is likely “5159” reconfigured with some cooling. So if you love “5159” this will be right up your alley!

This is not your usual Fruit Salad! With apple and boysenberries creating quite a unique tone, and mango and nectarine, filling in the mid-range, get ready to get your taste-buds rocking!

Individual Notes

The apple can be found throughout the entire vape, perhaps not as strongly at some times as others, but it’s there, and is one of the main flavour notes in my opinion. It’s not quite a red apple, and not quite a green apple. Something in between. Sharp but dull, acidic yet sweet, a great allround apple flavour.

Berries or as the description notes, Boysenberries, are also quite dominant. In fact together with the apple, they make up the majority of the noticeable flavour in this one. Slightly tart, and sweet, with a light floral, and an intense juiciness, it’s a great choice for a fruit salad providing plenty of impact.

The lesser noticed fruits, like Mango and Nectarine, and I’m sure others, bring up the mid range, juicy and sweet, but not quite as dominant as the apple and berries, they do a great job of providing a bit of fullness, rounding out the background, and making sure this flavour has quite a bit of complexity.

Menthol/Cooling agent. Get ready to freeze your mouth, because the level of chill in this flavour is on par with the last, and will give you a brain-freeze!
Definitely one of the coldest Aussie juice lines I’ve tried!

Inhale & Exhale

This flavour is quite complex, and really difficult to distinguish where various flavours come through, due to how well they blend, but on the inhale, I notice the Apple and Berry blend first, straight away they create a mix of acidically sweet, and juicy and tart, with a dryer texture, almost sherbet-like that creates quite a unique profile. It comes across as quite a candy flavour at first, gradually getting stronger and juicier as it goes.

Close to the top of the inhale, I notice the juicy mango and lighter nectarine start to work their way in. These fruits provide quite a lot of background juiciness, and really lift the profile, all the while, staying relatively under the radar. They peak a little at the top of the inhale, but remain mid-range notes under the apple and berry, specially with that cooling agent now providing a little chill.

On the exhale, things shift around a little with the beginning of the exhale being quite juicy, due to the mango and nectarine, this slowly begins to fade though, as the drier berry and apple blend takes over. Combined with the cooling agent, the flavour mingles a little and becomes a lot less condensed, and refined, allowing things to wash out. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it does leave the exhale with less flavour as the cooling takes over.

At the very end of the exhale you’ll end up with a brain (or throat) freeze as the cooling agent finally takes hold and gives you a full on frozen face!

Final thoughts

This is one tasty juice! Packed full of flavour, and what a lovely blend of all of those fruits. They work really well together. Fruity, juicy, with elements of all of those fruits, coming together to create a really unique fruit salad profile.

Now, I reviewed “5159” a long while back which is one of Priority Blends original Fruit salad flavours and if memory serves me correctly, this is not quite that. The dominant notes are a little different and it has a different overall vibe going on. So my musings earlier about this being “5159” with cooling, are not completely accurate.

Whatever you guys have done when rejigging this one, you’ve nailed, because I think this one is just magical.

Top work!

Where to Buy:

The entire Priority Blends “Chilled” range can be purchased through any of their other stockists around the country.
The “Chilled” range is also available for wholesale through Oz Eliquid.

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Apple/Mango/Berries

Coil and wick damage:

I’ve noticed a small amount of coil gunking, so there must be a little sweetener in here, but nothing over the top.

PG/VG Ratio:

70VG/30PG

Texture:

Sweet Fruit Salad, juicy, berry and apple based.

Steeping:

No need to steep this one.

Presentation:

The Priority Blends “Chilled” range has some pretty cool presentation. I received 60ml tinted Chubby Gorilla bottles with child-proof and tamper-proof caps and needle tip dispenser. What’s a little unusual, however is how much juice is in the bottle. Priority fill their 60ml bottles with 50ml of eliquid! This, I’m assuming is to give some room in the top of the bottle for users to add their nicotine. Very clever!

The labels are pretty simple, black gloss labels with colour cartoony graphics, the brand and flavour front and centre, along with the PB logo and “CHILLED” in big bold lettering. Other information that can be found on the labels are: Eliquid size=50ml, warnings, ingredients, VG/PG ratio, 0mg nicotine declaration, barcode and Priority Blends social media and website information.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod/variable wattage mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
