e-Juice Review: Chocolate Vanilla Split from Mr Wicky

e-Juice Review: Chocolate Vanilla Split from Mr Wicky

Hi folks, I’m back today with another review from Mr Wicky’s range of e-liquids.

If you didn’t know, I’ve been trying out all of their flavours over the last week or so, and have so far worked my way through all but 2 of them.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Chocolate Vanilla Split” from Mr Wicky.

(This eliquid was supplied by Vapoureyes for review. Much love guys!)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
Two scoops of a very generic store-brand vanilla ice cream smothered in the matching store-brand chocolate flavoured topping.
…it’s from the man himself, what can I say? Relive your Black and Gold glory days.

The Review

Chocolate! It’s another flavour that is usually hit or miss, not from any fault of the juice company, rather, there’s quite a limited range of chocolate’s available in concentrate form. Having said that, there are a few things that can be done to make these chocolates work, and Mr Wicky have found one of the best!

Vanilla!

With a chocolate profile so close to chocolate ice-cream and a velvety smooth sweet vanilla beefing up the mid-range this is smooth and creamy!

Individual Notes

The chocolate here, was a good pick. I have no idea which concentrate company it comes from but it’s quite a lot smoother than many, and does not come across as dry nor as cocoa based as others.
Don’t get me wrong, this is totally cocoa, rather than milk chocolate, but Mr Wicky have smoothed it out to take the edge off.

The vanilla that has been added really does a great job of toning down what is usually a cocoa overkill, making sure to give this a smoother, silkier finish. Along with some added sweetener, it bolsters the mid-range and creates a creamier finish.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I get cocoa chocolate straight away. It’s not as obtrusive as some, but still has that distinctive, light bitterness that most chocolates have due to the overambitious cocoa in the concentrate. As the inhale continues, that cocoa does intensify, but only for so long until you begin to notice some of the vanilla wash through.

This vanilla hits just before the top of the inhale, helping to tone down the cocoa, and provide a richer and creamier chocolate, more akin to chocolate ice cream. It’s here that you’ll get the most flavour, and that turning of the chocolate from a cocoa based chocolate, to more of a chocolate ice cream is somehow quite satisfying.

On the exhale, things get even creamier, as the vanilla really starts to kick in, turning this to a chocolate and vanilla ice cream sort of profile.
There’s a little dryness here from the chocolate, but it’s not a flavour killer, just a minor annoyance.
Sweetness kicks in now, and the rest of the vape flows on with a textured, yet silky smooth chocolate and vanilla ice cream profile, with a sweetened tang.

Final thoughts

I’ve enjoyed this one, I did fear that the chocolate might have turned out to be the usual full on cocoa blend, but it surpised me with its resemblance to chocolate ice-cream rather than an overkill of cocoa.

The vanilla was a nice touch and is an important ingredient in getting this flavour onto the profile that it has, adding fullness and volume, as well as a nice smooth texture to round things out.

If you love your chocolate ice-cream, you’ll get a kick out of this one.

Nice work.
