e-Juice Review: Bloody Ripper from Bogan Brews

e-Juice Review: Bloody Ripper from Bogan Brews

This week I’ve got something a little special for you guys. This next bunch of flavours, were added to the original line a while back, and as usual I haven’t gotten around to picking up the new flavours until now!

The original line was great, packed full of flavour, with some awesome flavour combinations. I reviewed them ages ago. (take a look at my thoughts)

Without further ado, here are the latest creations from the man, the myth, the legend, the Vaping Bogan and his range of eliquids.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Bloody Ripper” from Bogan Brews.

(This eliquid was supplied by Vapoureyes for review. Much love guys!)

Flavour Description

[From the website]

Too right mate, Ripper is a raspberry and pineapple sour, but nix all the hops you’d expect from the first ten minutes of a Bogan review. Enjoy the smooth and tingly refreshment this all day vape contender will provide day after day.

Beyond perfectly paired with a highly hopped IPA!

The Review

As you all know, Pineapple is usually a bit of an issue for me, it just doesn’t agree with me, and I have trouble getting a nice thick dense vape from it for any length of time, its just one of those flavours.

But.. I’m still pretty excited about this one, because Bogan Brews has a good history of pushing out some very intense, and interesting flavour combinations, so I’m diving into this hoping for something next level, and hopefully my Pineapple fears will be calmed!

With a dominant bitey pineapple, providing the sharpness and some sweet sweet raspberry pulling up the background, fruit lovers are going to go nuts for this!

Individual Notes

The pineapple here is quite sharp, and being a tart flavour also carries a sharpened sweetness with it. It’s a bright pineapple, not your usual dull, stewed pineapple, but a fresh pineapple juice profile.

The raspberry sets a nice tone in the background. It’s also quite a sweet flavour, but unlike the pineapple, is a lower tone, so works really well as the background fruit.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, the Pineapple really makes itself at home, starting off as quite a syrupy pineapple, really sweet and juicy. As you inhale though, things start to get tarter, and almost sour!

At the top of the inhale, things really sharpen up, and get to quite a sharp tartness, it’s not an unnatural one either, because there is also a tonne of sweetness to this pineapple too.

Once I hit that peak, I notice the sweeter, lower tones of the raspberry pull in from underneath the pineapple, beginning to sweeten everything up and taking a little edge off of the tart pineapple.

Through the exhale, the raspberry strengthens, creating a brilliantly sweet blend of tartness and sweetness, bringing the profile into a more syrupy texture again, washing over the tastebuds.

Final thoughts

I am not disappointed. While I generally hate pineapple, this is quite a good one, with the pineapple reaching quite a tart or sour crescendo before the sweetness of the rasbperry (perfect backdrop by the way) smoothes and evens everything back out to leave a lovely syrupy exhale.

This hasn’t converted me over to being a pineapple lover, but it’s a tastebud popping, punchy sweet flavour. It fits in really well with the rest of the Bogan Brews range!

Well done guys.

The entire Bogan Brews eliquid range can be purchased directly from the Vapoureyes Online Store, the Vape Traders website for wholesale, as well as any of their many stockists around the country.

Colour:

Completely Clear

Aroma:

Sweet Pineapple

Coil and wick damage:

This one really darkened and degraded my wick. No gunking though.
I suspect it’s quite a tank killer, so be careful around plastic tanks 😉

PG/VG Ratio:

75VG/25PG

Texture:

Tart pineapple, with super sweet raspberry. Syrupy

Steeping:

I don’t thing steeping will be necessary.

Presentation:

The bogan has such a unique brand, it’s raw, but polished, with imagery akin to punk rock and a tattoo scene. It’s bold with striking black and white, and brighter in your face colours when he decides to use them.

I received clear 60ml Chubby Gorilla bottles with transluscent caps, child-proof and tamper-proof seals, you can’t get better.

The new labels for the Bogan Brews line, reflect his branding well, with a Pearl background, and black overprint, in scratchy imagery, and close yet well structured spacing between elements. Front and centre, you’ll see the Bogan Brews brand along with the flavour name, with black and white icons of the fruits/flavours that make up the mix.

On the back you get all the information you need. From bottle size, warnings, ingredients, barcode, poison hotline numbers, and best before date, right through to the “Product of New Zealand” line.

Pretty. Bloody. Awesome!

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod/variable wattage mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
