eJuice Review 382: Barton Red by The Barton Vape Co

The Barton Vape Co range of eliquids is beginning to feel like it really is the go-to line for tobacco flavours. So far we’ve had some basic tobaccos, as well as some tobaccos with a little bit of a twist.

Today we go up against the big kahuna, the flavour that every ex-smoker will turn to, to get there cigarette hit. If you’ve ever smoked a ‘red’ of just about any cigarette brand out there, you know just what I mean.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Barton Red”.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

A classic tobacco taste with a true matured Virginian twist

The Review:

Anything labelled as ‘Red’ in the cigarette world is guaranteed to be strong, the “Red” is usually reserved for those high tar rated cigarettes, the ones the old school tradies smoke, probably your grandfather too, while they are washing down their stouts or dark ales, after a long hard day.

“Barton Red” was created as a tribute to those types of cigarettes, strong, virginia tobacco, with a bit of throat hit just to make sure you won’t need to light another one up in a hurry!

Individual Notes

“Barton Red” is a slightly stronger version of “Barton Gold” in the sense that they are both more traditional tobaccos, with “Barton Red” being having a little more depth of flavour and a richer vape.

This is a great tobacco base, both smokey and sweet aromas, a little sourness lurks in there reminiscent of a Turkish blend, but kept to a minimum by the stronger virginia breadish nuances.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale consists mainly of the all too familiar light vegetal notes, a little grassy or nutty. It’s not as noticeable here in Barton Red as some other tobaccos, but is more noticeable that some of The Barton’s other flavours.

It doesn’t last too long though, really only on the initial inhale, which is then replaced by the full virginia tobacco blend notes, rich smokey nuances that come across a little bready and sweet, as well as thick and full textured.

Progressing onto the exhale, the sweeter notes get less so, as the virginia tobacco turns a little drier and smokey, getting more genuine as you vape.

The finish is a lovely light tobacco with a little smokiness at the back of the throat, that seems to follow the vape as you exhale back through the mouth again.

Final thoughts

A great mix, and another one of those tobaccos that you can just throw into a tank and go on your merry way, without much of a thought as to whether you might need to change it out later. A genuine tobacco, (well as genuine as you’ll get) that permeates a nice thick smokey texture on the exhale, slightly sweet with a light bready note.

Caveat Emptor: as with many tobaccos, this one may not be so friendly to your loved ones, it has a distinct smell that you may not notice while vaping, but the people around you will!

Presentation:

I’m really liking the clean professional presentation of The Barton range. It’s straight to the point, clear and concise, and visually appealing. I have right here, 30ml black tinted LDPE bottles with child-proof cap and needle tip dispenser. The labels are professionally printed, with a different pattern for each flavour, the Barton Vape Co logo front and centre, as well as the juice name, and the words “Ready to Vape”.

As for information on the labels, they have the usual stuff, but a little more interesting, this is the first time I’ve come across an Aussie vendor going to the trouble of mentioning nuts, soy and dairy. Specifically, “May contain traces of tree nuts, soy and dairy”.
If indeed many eliquids “could” contain any of these things, this should be on every bottle from every vendor. Great work on that guys.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
