eJuice Review 384: Barton Green by The Barton Vape Co

The Barton Vape Co have been a pretty impressive tobacco range. They’ve been the most convincing of the tobaccos that I’ve tried, and I can tell that a lot of time and effort has gone into not only getting them right, but fighting with the tools that were provided to push the boundaries a little.

You all know this, tobacco vapes normally suck. There’s no reason to mince words. They are usually horrible, and just don’t replicate a cigarette. It’s not the juice makers that do not care, its the concentrates that are out there that are simply lacking. Nobody has come out with a proper, realistic tobacco flavour that tastes like the actual act of smoking, they are all more of the smell you get when sticking your sniffer into the packet.

Now, having said all of that, The Barton Vape Co have made it their mission, despite the poor support from flavourists, to create the best rendition of tobacco flavours that they can. And I reckon they’ve done a fantastic job of it.

Today’s flavour included, this range is by far, the most genuine that I’ve had the pleasure of trying.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Barton Green”.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Just as you imagine, a premium menthol tobacco flavour.

The Review:

I must admit, when I was a smoker, I didn’t mind the odd menthol cigarette, it usually only ever happened if I had a friend that smoked them, I don’t actually ever remember buying any of my own. I did like them, it was just not my thing “all the time”.
Today’s flavour is a classic menthol flavour.

To get you in the mood, picture a slim, cool green packet, with mountain peaks on the packaging, and on the inside, narrow, paper white sticks adorned with shiny gold rings and an unmistakeable minty aroma.

“Barton Green” is a light tobacco, with heavy menthol notes, simulating that ultra cool hit you get when you first light up one of those white tipped wonders!

Individual Notes

Despite the simple mix, there is a little bit going on with this one. The tobacco is the usual lighter virginian tobacco, sweet with a bit of a vegetal aroma, very much like you would smell when giving a lighter pouch tobacco a big whiff. The exception here, is the smokey background. All of the Barton co’s tobaccos, have a nice distinct smokey exhale and aftertaste, that really helps provide a more authentic taste, bridging the gap between smelling the unlit tobacco, and actually smoking it.

On the tail of the tobacco, is a big hit of menthol. Not your usual menthol where the mixer has tried to hide the actual menthol taste only really wanting the cooling factor. The Barton Vape co have embraced the menthol and they want you to taste it. Just like you would a real menthol cigarette.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is mainly of the tobacco, its light, with a little virginian tobacco aroma, sweet and a little smokey. I also notice the introduction of a waft of menthol at this point too. It’s obviously not at full intensity, but it’s there, ready to go as soon as the exhale kicks off.

As you exhale, the tobacco seems to stay at its same intensity, providing a warmer smooth backdrop allowing the menthol to do it’s thing, and boy does it! As soon as you exhale, the menthol kicks off, intensifying as you go, getting cooler and cooler, giving you more of that raw menthol taste as you continue.

This is not a cooling agent blast either, this is a pure menthol, a musty mint, that exists for the length of the inhale and exhale and no longer, just like a menthol cigarette will. Whereas a cooling agent will kick around even after you’re finished vaping it.

Even though the exhale is mostly menthol, you still get the underlying tobacco flavour come through somewhat. It is a little muted due to the menthol, but remains at a level, that you still get hints of it even when the menthol is at its highest.

Final thoughts

This is a really good genuine menthol tobacco flavour. It’ll hit you hard if you direct lung inhale, and you’ll need to get used to it, but that is exactly how the real thing is too.

Absolutely the best menthol tobacco that I have had.

My reviews of the Barton Vape Co’s range of tobacco flavours is now finished, but don’t fret, I’m following up over the next few days with their latest releases, which are more dessert orientated.

Keep your eyes peeled for my reviews of “Lammi”, “Froots”, and “Monti”.

Presentation:

I’m really liking the clean professional presentation of The Barton range. It’s straight to the point, clear and concise, and visually appealing. I have right here, 30ml black tinted LDPE bottles with child-proof cap and needle tip dispenser. The labels are professionally printed, with a different pattern for each flavour, the Barton Vape Co logo front and centre, as well as the juice name, and the words “Ready to Vape”.

As for information on the labels, they have the usual stuff, but a little more interesting, this is the first time I’ve come across an Aussie vendor going to the trouble of mentioning nuts, soy and dairy. Specifically, “May contain traces of tree nuts, soy and dairy”.
If indeed many eliquids “could” contain any of these things, this should be on every bottle from every vendor. Great work on that guys.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
