eJuice Review 436: Pure Eden by Trio Vapes

I have another interesting review for you all today. This one is brought to you by Trio Vapes again, but this time its branded under their own banner, “Trio Vapes”.

The Trio Vapes range has been divided between a “Black Series” and a “White Series”, I’m not sure what separates the two, but if you think today’s flavour looks interesting, you should check out some of their other combinations, there definitely are some mouth watering eliquids there!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Pure Eden” from Trio Vape’s own juice range. This is from the “White Series”.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

Step into the garden of Pure Eden and experience a taste sensation like no other. Splicing eight different fruits and vegetables, Pure Eden delivers a knockout of full-bodied flavour. With orange, mango, carrot, peach, pumpkin, honeydew, lemon and menthol, this hearty blend is sure to put a spring in your step.

Flavour Profile: Orange, mango, carrot, peach, pumpkin, honeydew, lemon, menthol

The Review:

This is a very strange mix indeed! A very complex blend of flavours, and a really unusual combination too! I’ll be honest and say that without the description, there are a few notes here that I totally wouldn’t have picked up on, but can actually taste them now that I know they are there.

Having said that, there are a lot of flavours here that act as supporting notes rather than dominant or primaries that add just that little something to the mix, whether it is just rounding out other flavours or providing a bit of alternative texture.

On first vape, you couldn’t be blamed for thinking that this is fruity blend, due to the dominant mango, honeydew and citrus’s, but continue to vape this for a while and you’ll begin to notice some of the vegetal, more savoury flavours involved, such as the carrot and pumpkin.

To me, “Pure Eden” is a tasty, very interesting blend of sweet mango and honeydew with citrus high points, backed up by mid range and complimentary background notes of carrot and pumpkin rounding out the base giving this juice a lot of depth.

Individual Notes

There are a tonne of flavours here, but breaking them down by effect helps to understand why these particular notes were used.

Sweet fruits : The sweet fruits are obviously the major players here. The mango and peach with their syrupy mid range sweetness, and the honeydew’s melon feel and bright top note dominate most of the vape. You’ll notice these flavours instantly, and continue to taste them right until the very end of your exhale, they are juicy, robust, and really take centre stage.

Savoury notes : The carrot and pumpkin appear as mid-tones on the exhale, giving the exhale a bit of a boost in body and texture, while also adding a slight vegetable, or vegetal consistency. These are not very noticeable, and if you weren’t aware that they were in there, you’d likely wonder what that mystery flavour was in the middle of the exhale. They are slightly dulling, pulling the brightness of the flavour down a little, and forcing the mid-range of the vape to round everything out.

Complimentary Additions : The citruses, orange and lemon compliment the other flavours, and provide that little bit of acidity that binds the sweet and savoury together, providing a little tartness, pulls that tension together allowing everything to flow as one.

There is also some menthol and cooling agent here. I believe it is both as it is quite cold on the inhale and the exhale, cooling agent usually presents itself on the inhale, and menthol on the exhale. It is a pretty good icy blast, and will chill your mouth and throat.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll first notice the mango and less so the peach. The blend is sweet and syrupy, with some body to it, fresh and realistic fruity flesh.

As the inhale continues, you’ll pick up on a little bit of the honeydew, very dialed back at this stage but it is there with that unmistakeable melon nuance. As the honeydew hits so does the cooling agent. It starts off quietly but intensifies right up until the very top of the inhale providing a real chill to the mouth and throat.

You’ll notice a bit of a blind spot here, where the cooling agent hits its height, and covers up the majority of the flavour from the fruits, this is directly related to the strength of the cooling agent, not the fruits, I believe a little bit less of the cooling agent might have worked a little better.

Never-the-less, shortly after you reach that peak of chill, and the cooling effect falls back a little, the fruits reappear at the beginning of the exhale.

As they gain ground again, you’ll notice a more ambient, warmer vegetal feel join the fruits on the exhale, this is the carrot and pumpkin appearing through the mid-range, bolstering the body of the vape, and providing a more savoury feel. The sweetness from the fruits doesn’t really drop, it is more that the savoury notes intensify, leaving that feeling that the sweetness has abated somewhat.

On the home stretch of the exhale, both the sweet and savoury aspects of this eliquid intensify again along with a less imposing menthol and drive things home as one very delicately blended mix.

Final thoughts

This eliquid is quite a strong mix, definitely not as imposing as the last one that I reviewed of course, instead “Pure Eden” is a little more forgiving in that regard. While it has some punch, you’ll find that cooling agent provides most of that intensity, with the benefit of still being able to taste most of the fruits and vegetables that make up this flavour easily. Some more noticeable at times, but you will catch them all.

I’ve really enjoyed vaping this, I love my unusual flavours, and this is definitely one of them. I was at first a little worried that the carrot and pumpkin may not work, but incredibly, they are a welcome addition, and really bolster the mid-range of the flavour, allowing the mango and honeydew to dominate, as they provide some complimentary notes and texture.

If you’re after something a little different, or for that matter, just love your complex mixes, this one might be just right for you. It is balanced quite well, with staying flavour. A good, honest all day vape.

Kudos to Trio Vapes for doing things a little differently too!

Colour:

Light Honey tint

Aroma:

Fruity, mango, peach, honeydew

Coil and wick damage:

There is a little coil and wick damage with this one, I’ve changed wicks every day for the last 2 days.

PG/VG Ratio:

70%VG / 30%PG

Texture:

Sweet, bright, juicy fruits

Steeping:

No steep necessary for this one!

Presentation:

I received, a 30ml white glass dropper bottle. This one comes with the standard glass dropper with white lid, nothing unusual about it. This bottle seems to do a good job of avoiding the usual leakage and drips.

This juice also came in a box with a nice magnetic soft close flap, obviously mostly for presentation, it is very classy looking.

The bottle label is a matt silver, with gold stripe, and lists the usual information PG/VG ratios, warnings and how to prolong the shelf life of the eliquid.

Very professional presentation.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
