eJuice Review 434: Melonade by Vaping Mad
Today, I’m up to the fourth flavour from one of Australia’s longest serving eliquid makers, Vaping Mad.
While reviewing, I’ve found that every juice has been full flavoured, great for both “direct to lung” (DTL) as well as “mouth to lung” (MTL) vaping, ensuring that a wide variety of vapers can enjoy every flavour in the range.
Today, I’ll be reviewing “Melonade” from Vaping Mad

Flavour Description
A fizzy lemonade concoction, blended and whizzed with fresh tropical melons!
Melonade is a MadMixtress Blend that spins a classic fizzy lemonade on it’s melon.
Inhale: bright and fizzy old fashioned lemonade
Exhale: sweet pink lemonade with melon accents
The Review:
I love lemonades, and believe it or not, this is actually the first time that I’ve tried a lemonade mixed with melon, honeydew to be more precise.
Melonade is a bright, fruity vape great for summer, with it’s down to earth honeydew, and sweet, fizzy lemonade and light berry notes.
Individual Notes
The honeydew here is nothing out of the ordinary, it’s a simple straight forward honeydew, with lower melon notes, and a bright slightly tart sweetness. I feel that it has been mixed at just the right ratio though. You notice that pleasant honeydew without it overpowering, allowing the other flavours to get a look in also.
The lemonade comes across as very lemon based, citrus is probably a better description. It’s a heartier lemonade than the usual soft drink types, a little mulled,very much a home made lemonade. There is a noticeable fizziness here too, so I suspect a soda style lemonade has also been mixed in with it, in smaller percentages though.
It feels as though there is some berry here, either strawberry or raspberry, I suspect the latter. It’s difficult to pinpoint, but it just adds a little more complexity and that extra little bit of fullness.
Inhale & Exhale
On the inhale I first notice the bright and juicy lemonade, it’s very much dominated by a realistic lemon citrus note, which emphasises a very realistic home made type of lemonade. This home made lemonade is a little fizzy, very tangy and intensifies with the inhale, peaking right at the top of the inhale with a sweet yet tart lemon that really hits the taste buds with a rush of flavour.
As soon as the exhale begins, you’ll notice things thicken with the introduction of the sweet honeydew. It’s a nicely rounded out flavour with a sweetness and subtle melon notes, as all great honeydew’s should be.
Just like the home brewed lemonade on the inhale, the honeydew intensifies on the exhale building as the exhale progresses. It’s quickly joined by the lemonade again, this time not quite as strong, more of a subdued lemonade with a slight berry feel.
To be honest, I can’t really tell which type of Berry is here, it could be a strawberry or a raspberry, as it’s very light, but it does add to the flavour, offering a little more complexity and sweetness.
This honeydew and lemonade/berry blend continues right through until the end of the vape, increasing in intensity as you go, ending in quite a full flavoured and sweet exhale.
Final thoughts
This is a very nice fruity lemonade, I really like how the honeydew works in this mix. It doesn’t detract at all, on the contrary, it adds an interesting note that just feels right.
Both the honeydew and lemonde have been expertly mixed to just the right ratios allowing both flavours to sing without either dominating the other.
The berry is also a nice touch, I would have liked for this to be a little stronger, as it’s really just the tiniest hint and a little more would have rounded this out really nicely.
A wonderful flavour to get stuck into for summer, refreshing and sweet, and a great mix for an all day vape.

Presentation:
I received 120ml smokey grey plastic bottles with long pointy tips and leak proof screw caps. The labels are fairly basic, being matt white paper labels, but there is a tonne of awesome information on them, such as “Best By” date, contact information for Vaping Mad, Ingredients, as well as a large Vaping Mad logo and name of the flavour underneath.
I really like these caps, because they seem to not leak very much, unlike other bottles, and the nozzle is small enough to fill a tank or squonk bottle really quickly without giving yourself RSI from having to squeeze too hard!
Test rigs:
Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
