eJuice Review 421: Reload – Raspberry Lemonade by Anthill Vapour

Welcome back to the Anthill Vapour show! Today, I have another flavour from Anthills new range “Reload” to review for you all, and this one I’m sure many will be paying special attention to.

This profile is a favourite for many, as well as myself, so it will probably be quite a popular e-liquid. Let’s get down and dirty and pick this thing apart already!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Raspberry Lemonade” from Anthill Vapour’s new juice range “Reload”.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Excite your senses with this refreshing blend of fresh raspberry and tart lemonade that creates a truly delightful experience you won’t forget.

The Review:

You’d expect this one to be really sweet, perhaps more like a raspberry soda, but it’s not. This flavour goes against all expectations and delivers a realistic fruit experience. From it’s tart yet sweet raspberries to the bright citrus notes of the home made lemonade.

Individual Notes:

The raspberry is quite a realistic raspberry with a nice tartness, and a touch of bitterness. There are no candy notes here, nor is it overly sweet. A fruity sweetness yes, a dessert or lolly sweetness no.

The lemonade comes across as a very lemony home-made lemonade, there is a lot of citrus and a bright tang that on the exhale, sweetens up and becomes an almost soda like lemonade, but retains its lemon and spice feel.

Inhale & Exhale:

The inhale is a little confusing, on the one hand we have tart raspberries, and on the other, citrusy lemon, creating a bit of a homemade lemonade flavour. Tart and citrus seem to fight against each other, but unconvincingly, like two drunk blokes getting pushed into a fight that neither of them want. Both of these flavours seem to get to a specific level of flavour intensity and level out with neither of them taking dominance.

Eventually through the citric tartness, you do begin to notice intricacies of both lemon and raspberries. It’s as though that confusing part of the inhale, had to take place for both of these flavours to flourish.

The raspberries are sweet. A bright kind of sweet, fresh tart flesh cleanses your palate, as the mulled lemon washes over it, a little contrast finally creating a kind of natural sweetness.

Onto the exhale and I do notice a little more sweetness at this point. It sort of teeters on the edge of becoming candy like, but then pulls back at the last minute to show some extra lemon. The finish is a blend of soda like lemonade and home made with it’s sweetness and tartness working in unison.

Final thoughts:

This is a great flavour that steers away from the usual candy type raspberry, the tangy lemon hits the spot really nicely too. If you’re looking for a realistic tart berry flavour, and can’t stand overly sweet candies, this will definitely be your thing.

Did this blow me away? No, not really, it’s not quite “flavour of the year”, but it is a well mixed home made lemonade with fresh raspberry, no question.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen a little more raspberry coming through, the lemon and lemonade seemed to dominate the exhale a little too much. Personal preference though.

Where to Buy:

You can buy all of the “Reload” range as well as Anthill’s other offerings directly through the Anthill Vapour website , or purchase from one of the many online and physical stores stocking them.

Presentation:

Such cool presentation this range has. All 60ml bottles came in Chubby Gorilla type clear plastic bottles with childproof cap and needle tip nozzle. The labels are the definition of simple, with the range name written boldly down the side “RELOAD”, and the juice name under it. All on a perfectly clear label mind you so that you can see the liquid level underneath. The subtle shadow of the Juice line name, is coloured according to the flavour, which is a nice little touch.
Everything else you might need is on the labels, bottle size, VG/PG Ratio, Ingredients, Warnings, Storage instructions, where it’s bottled, even the “dispose of in the bin” image is present!
Every juice comes in it’s own flavour branded coloured cardboard box with all of the same information that is on the bottles also. (Note: there are not many companies here in Australia that do this!)

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 ET coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
