eJuice Review 422: Reload – Red Liquorice by Anthill Vapour

Last but not least! Today’s review is the last of Anthill Vapour’s new range “Reload”, and what a week it’s been! There’s definitely been a few stand outs, I have to say, this has been a good solid range of flavours.

There’s a few of the usual or more common profiles in this range and then there are the ones that Anthill have been brave enough to throw a gamble on, I’m happy to say that it’s paid off! Not one of these has fallen short of the mark.

Anyway enough of the love in, let’s get on with today’s review.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Red Liquorice” from Anthill Vapour’s new juice range “Reload”.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Reward yourself with this soft and smooth strawberry liquorice delight. You’d be surprised you’re not chewing on the real deal.

The Review:

If you’ve questioned whether this might be a flavour that couldn’t be pulled off, let me reassure you, Anthill have done a magnificent job with this one.

Initially, you’ll simply be impressed with how accurately they’ve captured the flavour of Red Liquorice, or “Twizzlers” as they are more commonly known in the US.

Then after vaping it for a while, you’ll realise this delicately mixed strawberry and raspberry is so we’ll balanced that you may not have even noticed them before, instead seeming as though they are one complete flavour not the two fruits mixed together!

Throw in a little bit of a waxy gummy texture, and you’ve got a very very convincing red liquorice!

Individual Notes:

There is some strawberry and raspberry here, but as I eluded to earlier, you’ll have a difficult time discovering where one ends and the other begins. Instead they are very intricately mixed, to give the illusion that there is just the one berry that creates the unique red liquorice flavour.

I believe I am getting a Swedish gummy flavour coming through here too, it is what is providing that waxy and gummy texture. combined with the berries, it makes for the perfect blend.

Inhale & Exhale:

You’ll likely notice the two berries most on the inhale, the strawberry adds a little brightness, an underlying tartness, and the raspberry a little sweetness and a more solid impact. The berries get stronger as the inhale continues, both so equally matched that they almost cancel each other out, making the fruit a little muted in the beginning, (which by the way is a really important factor to get this flavour right).

The exhale sees the gummy notes prevail past the berries and really drive home that this is a “Twizzler” or “Red Liquorice” flavour. With the Raspberry and Strawberry blending into each other, the gummy picks up at this point, providing a more waxy texture, void of sweetness and sourness, instead providing an interesting mouth feel.

Final thoughts:

Anthill have done a wonderful job, creating this true to form “Red Liquorice” flavour. All of the appropriate notes are there, fruity raspberry and strawberry, and of course the all important gummy or waxy texture that combined with the berries, makes for a flavour such as this.

I’d have liked for this to have a little bit more punch to it, but of course the flip side of that is, it could have ended up an overflavoured mess, so while it’s a smooth not so intense flavour, it’s a lovely vape all the same.

I’ve not put this one down in two days! Great job guys!

Presentation:

Such cool presentation this range has. All 60ml bottles came in Chubby Gorilla type clear plastic bottles with childproof cap and needle tip nozzle. The labels are the definition of simple, with the range name written boldly down the side “RELOAD”, and the juice name under it. All on a perfectly clear label mind you so that you can see the liquid level underneath. The subtle shadow of the Juice line name, is coloured according to the flavour, which is a nice little touch.

Everything else you might need is on the labels, bottle size, VG/PG Ratio, Ingredients, Warnings, Storage instructions, where it’s bottled, even the “dispose of in the bin” image is present!
Every juice comes in it’s own flavour branded coloured cardboard box with all of the same information that is on the bottles also. (Note: there are not many companies here in Australia that do this!)

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 ET coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
