eJuice Review 410 : Cherry Ice – The Fountain Range by OPMH Project

eJuice Review 410 : Cherry Ice – The Fountain Range by OPMH Project

I’ve got some extra special juices up for review over the next week. This range is fairly new, and brought to you by OPMH Project, who have been really pimping this new line for quite some time. These guys are based out of Loisville, Kentucky USA, and specialise as distributors for other juice lines as an easy way for Vape Shops to stock their shelves with some of the best liquids to come out of the States.

Well, they’ve revamped their own range of ejuices, and “The Fountain range” is the result.

This brand is described as a line of eliquid beverage flavors that are dead-on replicas of your favorite sodas and frozen, slushy drinks. Sounds great to me! Let’s get started!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Cherry Ice” from “The Fountain” range by OPMH Project.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

We didn’t think it could be done. An authentic, rainier cherry flavor without the nasty cough syrup taste. We were wrong. You’ll swear this delicious vape came straight out of the slush dispenser.

The Review:

If you’ve ever had a cherry vape, you’ll know that many of them have quite a strange flavour to them. They’ve often got a medicinal, almost cough syrup taste to them, a real artificial cherry that just doesn’t feel right.

This is the first cherry flavour that I’ve tried that doesn’t have it, and boy am I happy about that! Instead, “Cherry Ice” is a lovely, sweet and very smooth, cherry candy, with undertones of lemonade, and a crushed ice slushy feel.

Individual Notes

Cherry. Obviously this has cherry in it. But it’s definitely not the Cherry that you’d expect. As I mentioned earlier, it’s not a medicinal cherry at all. Think fresh cherries with a most of the tartness removed, and more of those sweet berry notes.

There is an underlying flavour here also, that gives a genuine slushy feel. It’s slightly tart, very sweet, and has a bit of a fruitiness to it. I could only take a guess, as it feels very much like a lemonade, or a dragonfruit to me, whichever it is, OPMH have done a brilliant job using it to bring out that crushed ice slushy flavour.

I don’t notice any menthol in this juice, I kind of expected it, being a slushy flavour, but I guess that could have distracted from the lighter cherry flavour.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is a fairly light blend, being quite sweet, with a touch of fresh cherry, at this point it has more of that dragonfruit, or lemonade feel to it, the vape also has a little thickness to it, which makes me think that there may be some marshmallow or small percentage of cream in it.

Following on from the inhale, the exhale sees the dragonfruit/lemonade remain, as the Cherry notes begin to get stronger, overtaking them and that unmistakeable fresh cherry nuance gets a little more depth. This is where you’ll notice the cherry the most. Its a little floral, a little fruity, very berry based, that typical cherry flavour that hits you when you first bite into the real thing.

The cherry begins to face almost as quickly as it arrived, it begins to recede into the background again, and those sweet slushy/lemonade/dragonfruit notes push back to the front of the palate, finishing off the vape with a really smooth sweetness.

Final thoughts

This flavour blew me away! Never before have a I had a cherry that didn’t have that cough syrup taste to it, and until now, I’ve avoided them because of it.

This has got to be the best Cherry I’ve tried, and as a bonus, it carries those familiar slushy notes with it also. A brilliant blend, smooth, sweet and an absolute pleasure to vape.

OPMH have also managed to pull off a really sweet vape, without the consequences of instantly damaged coils and wicks too. I’ve been vaping this for 3 days so far, and not changed my wicks once. I do notice a little gunking on my coil, but nothing too serious and I could easily get away without dry burning for a few days yet!

I would have liked to see a little menthol in here, being that it’s a slushy flavour, but I’m sure there is a reason why it wasn’t included. If you love your Cherry slushies, you’re going to love this one!

You can enquire about “The Fountain” range directly through the OPMH Project website, or purchase them from the many online and physical stores across the USA stocking them.

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Sweet Cherry

Coil and wick damage:

Small amount of coil gunking, not too bad.

PG/VG Ratio:

70%VG / 30%PG

Texture:

Sweet candy, full flavoured.

Steeping:

No steeping necessary

Presentation:

Really nice presentation here. I received clear 60ml Chubby Gorilla bottles, that of course have child-proof caps and freshness seal. One great thing that I noticed, is that the freshness seal, when cracked, does not slip down over the nozzle, which is a major annoyance with other bottles. It stays where it is and doesn’t get in the way. The nozzles are a touch wider than the usual, which minimises leakage and juice seeping from the nozzle when you don’t want it to. These bottles are very impressive.

The labels are very professional with The Fountain logo and graphic, flavour name, and all of the warning information you could every need. Best before is also on there, which is a nice touch.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 ET coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
