eJuice Review 409: Melonaire by Secret Bunker Vapour

This flavour has been patiently waiting in my review box for a while, and is the last installment of the “Shadow Series” by Secret Bunker Vapour. The 5th flavour of the range.

I reviewed the other flavours in this range a little while ago, when there were only four in the series, and all of them were quite impressive, combining some great flavour with an obvious gift for mixing, this fifth flavour has a lot to live up to!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Melonaire” by Secret Bunker Vapour.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

A very unlikely meeting between these fruits. Crisp watermelon which gets wrapped in golden mango and dunked in highly concentrated purple grape juice. Cantalope jumped in to stop the violence.
Such a rich flavour selection will make this complex mix a must in every millionaire’s pocket or those who are almost there.

The Review:

A very interesting mix this one. “Melonaire” is a complex mix, one of those where the mixture of flavours combined is not simply a bunch of flavours blended ending up with a mish mash of various fruits. Instead it creates an entirely new flavour!

It is brilliant, decadent flavour which takes the best aspects of each fruit, and creates a supremely juicy, and syrupy concoction, with melon flare and sweet undertones.

Individual Notes

There is a definite Mango here, you can pick it out mostly throughout the entire vape. It is very realistic, and can be defined as more of a mango juice, or that fleshy sweetness, without the skin that you would get from eating it peeled and sliced.

The Cantaloupe or Rockmelon as us aussies call it, falls to the background, acting more as a supporting note, just like the mango, is noticeable throughout most of the vape. The mango and Rockmelon provide the majority of that robust thick syrupy feel that you’ll get from vaping this.

Watermelon provides a sweet and clean feel to the beginning of the exhale, and acts somewhat as a bridge between many of the flavours, combining them, and helping them to meld. Just like the mango, this is a definite watermelon flesh, without the rind, it’s juicy and helps to keep the vape from drying out.

Apparently there are berries here! In all honesty, I couldn’t pick any, if I were to guess, it would probably be strawberry or blackberry, as I do notice that there is a slight tartness, not a full on berry note, but a clean and crisp sour note that adds a little dimension without straying from this juice’s melon roots.

The grape juice that is here, acts just like the berry, a little acidy, a little sourness, a sharp tartness amongst the soft warmer melon tones, adds another layer of complexity, and helps add some contrast to the entire mix.

Inhale & Exhale

This one is tricky, because there are so many flavours at play, it changes. As you begin to get used to it, all of a sudden another flavour pops out at you! Get used to that a second time, and you’ll notice another note that you swear you hadn’t counted on before.
It’s a very clever mix, and a pleasure to vape.

On the inhale, I’d have to say I am getting mostly Mango, Rockmelon, and Berry. The mango and rockmelon sync really well together, almost locked together with the mango being a little more dominant, but neither seeming to pop out as the main flavour. Sweet and juicy, the inhale is thick and syrupy, with a slightly sharp or tart berry note toward the end. This berry note intensifies as the inhale continues, until it reaches it’s crescendo, and we then move onto…..

The exhale is initially the trailing off of the tart berry, which quickly falls away, allowing some clean and sweet watermelon notes to come through. This is not your candy watermelon, but fresh flesh notes with a very juicy feel. Underneath the watermelon there is a sweet and tart grape juice lurking, just waiting to spring out. Instead, it beds down, blending with the watermelon, and the lingering mango/melon notes offering quite a complex, sweet and clean exhale.

Final thoughts

I am actually really surprised at how clean this flavour seems considering all of the ingredients involved. This could really have gone in a completely different direction, and been a thick complex mess of a flavour, but instead, a steady hand has made sure that “Melonaire” came out the other side as a refreshing, yet flavour packed juice.

This one is definitely recommended, it will be the perfect summer vape once that warm weather comes around!
