eJuice Review 401: Stay Frosty by Clouded Visions

Another flavour here from Clouded Vision’s original range of eliquids, and this one will blow your socks off!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Stay Frosty” from Clouded Visions.

Flavour Description

For the true mint/menthol enthusiast. Essentially, Stay Frosty is a face melting smack of various types of mint, eucalyptus, a touch of sweetness and pure ice. Affectionately (or not) referred to as Liquid Vicks, this is not for everybody, and can be diluted down for those not brave enough. I’d recommend having a bottle of this handy at all times, as it is fantastic for clearing out a cold!

The Review:

Every vendor needs a juice that is minty and icy cold, for the menthol lovers amongst us, and this is Clouded Vision’s version.

Touted as “Liquid Vicks”, “Stay Frosty” is a chilly sensation of sweet mint and Eucalyptus with a throat freezing cooling sensation!

I’m definitely getting that Vicks feel from this flavour, but in spite of the description, I’m finding that it is more of a Vicks Vapour Drops / Peppermint candy hybrid.

Individual Notes

I’m not sure what Clouded Visions mean by multiple mints here, as I am mainly getting peppermint. Perhaps they were eluding to the fact that there is menthol here as well. Either way, the peppermint, is….. Peppermint. Sweet and slightly powdery feel with that minty blast, just like biting down into a peppermint lolly.

There is eucalyptus here also, which gives this juice it’s Vicks feel. It’s not overbearing at all and ties in really nicely with the peppermint, complimenting that chilled cooling effect too.

Besides the previous two main flavours, the rest are complimentary add-ons. Menthol, I’m guessing Koolada, WS23, and a little sweetener.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale I get a punch of peppermint, and eucalyptus straight away, as the cooling agent builds colder and colder toward the top of the inhale. There’s a little sweeteness thrown in here, which is a nice touch considering peppermint can be a little bitter by itself.

The layering of this juice is created really well to create quite a full vape, keeping the mint in check and providing a little extra complexity.

Over to the exhale and we are past the coldest part of the vape, where things warm up slightly and more sweetness appears giving this a bit of a candy vibe. I notice that the eucalyptus is a lot less potent at this point too, and the end of the vape is a very pleasant sweet peppermint with a lighter chill left over from the cooling agents.

Final thoughts

If you’re after something cold, and I mean really cold, this is the juice for you. I’ve really enjoyed this a lot, even the frozen throat, and found that the peppermint and eucalyptus work really well together to create a more complex profile than the peppermint would have done alone.

I don’t honestly have anything to complain about with this one, it’s a really great mix. I wonder if clouded visions have thought about using this as a base and adding some fruit flavours to it to make some killer chilled fruits?!

Presentation:

Always great presentation from Clouded Visions. Their basic unicorn bottles work really well, with no leaks and squeeze just the right amount of juice. I received 30ml clear plastic bottles with child-proof screw cap lids and needle tip dispensers. The labels are mostly glossy white with classy graphics, the clouded visions branding, juice range and name of juice. You’ll also find other information on there such as PG/VG ratio, and the general ingredients line.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
