eJuice Review 387: Monti by The Barton Vape Co

If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that this is the last of The Barton Vape Co’s flavour range that I have to review.

You’ll likely suspect that I’ve “left the best until last”, and you’d be right! I totally have, and you don’t know just how much I’ve been chomping at the bit to get stuck into this one!

This is one of The Barton Vape Co’s latest creations, it’s only a few weeks old in fact! Let’s see what it’s like!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Monti”.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

The classic homestyle coconut and honey biscuit, dripping with vanilla cream and wrapped in chewy jam…..burp

The Review:

I don’t know about you guys, but I grew up with Monte Carlo biscuits as a kid, they were not only part of those coveted cream biscuit packs, but held a special place for me, as the biccy that I’d head straight for as soon as Mum would let us open them. While everyone was grabbing at the Kingstons, I was secretly squirreling the Monte Carlo’s away for later 🙂

There was just something about that chewy raspberry cream in the middle that no other biscuit had, and the game I’d play with them trying to untwist the two biscuit layers whilst trying to keep the jammy cream on only the one side. ( I would rarely get that right! )

Anyway, so Monte Carlos are basically x2 rippled Honey/coconut biscuits, sandwiching some chewy vanilla cream and raspberry jam filling.

Did The Barton Vape Co get it right with their vaping equivelent? Yes they did.

While obviously, no vape flavour is perfect, “Monti” replicates those significantly memorable notes really well, the honey and coconut biscuit base is prevalent throughout the vape as a consistent background flavour, whilst the raspberry vanilla jam, is dominant and simply the icing on the cake.

Individual Notes

The biscuit notes are done really well here, as i said earlier, the biscuit is the background note, it’s quite consistent throughout the vape, the honey and coconut notes blend really nicely with the biscuit base, creating a feel of combined flavours, not just the three thrown together feeling separated. It really does taste like this was made with a honey/coconut/biscuit designed concentrate, not three different ones combined.

The raspberry jam / vanilla is devine. You couldn’t get a better replication of this, and you can almost feel the stickiness of it, just like biting into the real thing.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I notice the raspberry/vanilla and honey biscuit first and foremost, with the biscuit being more of a base note and the vanilla dominating with the raspberry adding just that little bit of extra sweetness.

The raspberry is both candy and realistic raspberry combined, to create quite a thick, sweet raspberry jam, that lingers in the mouth for a while.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, the raspberry and vanilla continue to dominate, while the biscuit base brings up the background. At this point however, I begin to notice the coconut a little more and the raspberry centre also seems to intensify, creating a sweet, sticky, yet natural coconut biscuit feel.

It’s at this point that the raspberry vanilla cream in the middle feels the most genuine, perfectly mimicking the real thing and driving the exhale home with a tasty familiar flavour, with lingering biscuit nuances coming through from the background creating complexity and extra layering.

Final thoughts

While you’d instantly recognise this flavour and draw similarities to it’s Monte Carlo notes, I also notice that the raspberry and biscuit also elude to something similar to a Raspberry Ripple cake. If you’ve ever had one, you’ll know what I mean.

Regardless, there is nothing to pick on here, this flavour is a true to form profile that does a great job of vapifying everyone’s favourite biccy, right down to it’s sticky jam centre.

Fantastic work guys! My favourite of your range.

Presentation:

I’m really liking the clean professional presentation of The Barton range. It’s straight to the point, clear and concise, and visually appealing. I have right here, 30ml black tinted LDPE bottles with child-proof cap and needle tip dispenser. The labels are professionally printed, with a different pattern for each flavour, the Barton Vape Co logo front and centre, as well as the juice name, and the words “Ready to Vape”.

As for information on the labels, they have the usual stuff, but a little more interesting, this is the first time I’ve come across an Aussie vendor going to the trouble of mentioning nuts, soy and dairy. Specifically, “May contain traces of tree nuts, soy and dairy”.
If indeed many eliquids “could” contain any of these things, this should be on every bottle from every vendor. Great work on that guys.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
