Augvape Foxy One Review

Augvape Foxy One Review

It really feels like I’ve been pumping out a lot of positive reviews lately, but what is one supposed to do when everything they review is brilliant?
Today’s review is another bit of gear that I’m absolutely impressed with.

This time around I’m taking a look at a device that is not only super simple to use, but is tiny for what it is, and can take any of 3 different sized batteries!

Augvape are well known for their legendary RDA’s and Tanks, but today’s review is of a single battery mod, something I’ll personally keep using for some time to come I imagine, I freaking love it!

Let’s check out Augvape’s Foxy One Mod!

Big thanks goes to Augvape, who sent this out for the purposes of review!

General Info

The Augvape Foxy One mod is a super simple, small C-Frame device that doesn’t focus on packing everything into the one box, it knows it’s purpose, and does it brilliantly!

This no-nonsense device is tiny at only 37mm x 86mm, ramps up to 120 Watts, and can take up to 3 different battery types. 18650 (with sleeve), 20700, 21700. In fact this is probably the smallest 21700 device that I’ve come across!

Made from Zinc Alloy, the Foxy One is one Foxy looking bit of kit. Well maybe not ‘foxy’, since it’s quite a masculine looking device, but a bit retro, and stylish in it’s use of alloy and leather, and with it’s ultra rounded corners.

It’s very comfortable in the hand with buttons in very ergonomic locations, as soon as you pick this up, it already feels like an extension of the hand.

The Battery Bay

The C-Frame is not a really unique design, many devices use a similar shape, but what Augvape have done with the Foxy One just makes sense. The ‘heel’ or the ‘battery door’ simply slides out from the rest of the device and back in smoothly with magnets holding everything together.

Where the Foxy One differs from other similar devices is the battery placement. Instead of sliding the battery between the connectors and then pushing the door on, the battery in the Foxy One slots into the actual door, seating comfortably into the bottom of the door, and the entire battery and door then slides onto the C-Framed main body.

The spring loaded battery terminals make this an easy feat, and the battery and door are held onto the frame via the 3 strong magnets on the edge.

One small little annoyance that I’ve had with the battery bay on the Foxy One, is that when putting the battery heel back in, mine does not close up all the way without a little pressure being added. This is likely just a magnet that is not quite as strong as the rest, and only a small niggle, but it does affect the fitment.

Usage

While the Foxy One doesn’t do everything, what it does do, it does really well. With 3 modes (VW/VV/Bypass) it keeps things simple, and tuned down to the very basic features you’re likely to use. No temp control, small screen, it really is a device for those who have a no mess no fuss approach to vaping.

While there isn’t a lot going on, the Foxy One does come with a few features that are not only understated, but not really even advertised.
It will auto lock your wattage after some time, as well as limit your wattage depending on what type of battery you are using. If you’re using an 18650 with the battery sleeve, it will limit you to 80 Watts. Put in a 21700 and you’re good to use the maximum 120 Watts.

There is also a bypass mode too, so you if you like to use mechs and have a few atomizers setup to use in mech mode, simply switch to bypass mode, and you’re vaping it just like a mech mod.

Here are the main operating features of the Foxy one :

  • On/Off : Press fire button x5 times
  • Enter Menu: Press fire button x3 times
  • To return hold fire button or leave the mod for 5 seconds
  • Lock wattage/voltage: Up and down button together

Charging

Augvape have provided a fast charge USB Type-C port on the Foxy One. You’ll likely not use it because you should be charging externally, but if you’re caught out without a charger, the charge port is handy.

Pros:

  • Stylish, elegant
  • Small size
  • Comfortable to hold and use
  • Super simple controls
  • Fast Charge USB Type-C

Cons:

  • Battery door sometimes doesn’t close completely

Where to Buy:

You can pick up the Augvape Foxy One directly through Augvape’s AliExpress store, for around the $45 USD mark, which is a pretty good price for one of the smallest 21700 mods around!

Conclusion

While it may not be packed with features, the Foxy One is one excellent device. Small, lightweight, yet build solid with a lovely finish and really appealing styling, those of you who like something simple without the bells and whistles, just no-nonsense variable wattage vaping, are in for a treat.

This has taken over as my favourite single battery device right now. Large enough to handle a 25mm diameter tank (with the smallest overhang), it’s small size and unique masculine design, has made it my go to for smaller tanks!

Great work Augvape!
