Wotofo NexMesh Pro Tank Review

Wotofo NexMesh Pro Tank Review

Wotofo have picked up where OFRF left off with their original nexMesh Tank, and after aquiring OFRF, have turned it into a flavour beast that is matched by no other!

Similar in looks to the original, the Wotofo nexMesh Pro tank adds slight tweaks to the original design, whilst keeping the fantastic flavour, ease of use and bullet-proof build quality.

Let’s take a look at the Wotofo nexMesh Pro Tank!!

Big thanks goes to Wotofo for sending this through for me to review!

General Info

The nexMesh Pro carries over the features that made the original nexMesh such a good tank. The availability of conical mesh coils that provide a much more dense flavour and the maximum 6ml e-liquid capacity.

Wotofo have upped the game a little however, the nexMesh Pro also brings some upgrades and new features, like clapton mesh coils, dual core coils with both mesh and round wire, and also an RBA deck.

Measuring in at approximately 52mm tall with a diameter of 24mm at the base (using the straight glass), the Wotofo nexMesh Pro Tank is a little smaller (the original was 25mm diameter), but taller than the original.

The size is negligible however, since the overall size or height of it to be precise is hardly over the top, and on par with other large sub-ohm tanks on the market.

While the overall look and feel of the new tank is similar to the old, there are some changes. While Wotofo have retained those chamfered edges, they’ve also cleaned up the lines a little and made this a much more appealing tank to look at. They’ve added a small knurled section just above the airflow ring and also made some of those chamfers a little more pronounced, giving a more modern look to the whole tank.

Wotofo have also added their branding on the inside chimney of the tank, where once was the OFRF branding.

Features

Let’s get away from comparisons shall we, because this is truly a fantastic tank, just as the original was, and deserves to be talked about without comparing to something that came previously.

So from the top down, you have quite a thick delrin 810 drip tip. Sitting below it is a sliding top cap that slides off in one direction to reveal the fill port, covered by a silicone seal with a slot where you’d push your e-liquid bottle tip in to fill. There’s a nice resistance to the movement of the top cap that builds confidence that this won’t open in your pocket, which it doesn’t of course. I’ve not had mine open accidentally even once.

You then have your glass section in the middle, shipping with straight glass, but a bubble glass option is included in the box, I’ve found myself using the bubble glass more due to the obviously larger e-liquid capacity, but the straight glass looks quite nice too. Through the glass you can see the large coil chamber, this housing is quite large, and needs to be, in order to utilise Wotofo’s huge coils and RBA deck. Starting off quite wide and narrowing the closer you get to the top of the tank, thus creating a condensed vapour as you inhale.

Toward the bottom, the airflow control ring opens on 3 sides with a 3 good sized cyclops holes offering plenty of airflow options, so you can dial your airflow in perfectly.

On the bottom you’ll find some more branding, as well as the gold plated 510 pin, that protrudes a decent amount, enough to allow you to put this tank on a hybrid mod without having to worry about shorts.

Airflow

The 3 adjustable cyclops style airflow holes offer a broad range of airflow from a loose Mouth to Lung draw right through an almost completely open Direct to Lung Draw and everything in between. The airflow is super smooth with no real turbulence, and is really quiet compared to many other tanks. The airflow control ring is a little tight but has a nice smooth movement to it, testiment to Wotofo’s quality control and machining, tolerances are impeccable on this tank.

Filling

Filling is super simple and lightning fast, the nexMesh Pro tank has a sliding top cap that you push to one side, revealing a good sized fill port under a silicone seal. In the seal is a narrow slit that you’d push your bottle nozzle into and fill from there.

There is a pressure release hole in the other side of the top cap (you can see it through the drip tip when the cap is slid open), that allows air to escape as you are filling, so you really can pump that e-liquid in fast without risk of any spillage or back pressure.

Depending on which coil you’re using will determine how much e-liquid you can get into the nexMesh Pro tank. 6ml while using the bubble glass and a single mesh coil. Take 1ml off of that total if you’re using one of the larger coils.
The straight glass will give you 4.5ml with a single coil, taking 1m off of that total when using the larger dual coil.

The only con that I could find whilst filling was that it was a little awkward filling with a 120ml bottle, as the edge of the bottle butts up against the drip tip limiting how far the nozzle would go into the fill port. This is easily remedied by removing the drip tip while filling though, so not a big issue.

Coils

The coils for the nexMesh Pro tank are the stars of the show, giving this tank it’s brilliant flavour and really dense vapour. There is a decent range of nexMesh coils for use with this tank, x2 you’ll get in the box, but I also received some extras thrown in from Wotofo!

  • 1 x H12 0.20ohm Clapton Mesh Coil
This is a clapton mesh coil. It uses kanthal A1 as the core wire and ni80 for the outer. It’s best used between 55W and 75W, and really shines at the upper end of the wattage spectrum.
  • 1 x H15 0.15ohm Single Mesh & Parallel Coil
This one is a new concept and something that Wotofo have been promoting lately. It’s a dual coil, but with a single mesh core and a double wire regular coil. An unusual pairing to have the 2 differing coils in the same housing, but it vapes really nicely and is rated for 65-80W.

Both of these coils perform excellently, providing a cooler, less powerful hit lower on the lower wattage end, but really pumping out that dense flavour at the upper end of their wattage range.

Beside the two coils that come in the box, I was also sent two other packs of coils to try with the nexMesh Pro Tank. These next type of coils were what heralded the original tank so popular. They are both single conical mesh coils, starting wider at the bottom and narrowing toward the top of the coil to really condense that flavour.

  • H11 0.20ohm Single Conical nexM Coil (Rated for 60-70W)
The conical shape of the mesh in this coil makes for some fantastic dense flavour and is what made the original so popular. The H11 coils use a thicker mesh with less holes than the H13, but puts out some incredible flavour.
  • H13 0.15ohm Single Conical Net M Coil (Rated for 65-78W)
Similar to the H11, but with finer mesh, this coil is a flavour banger, and really gets the full flavour of your e-liquid kicking. You’ll notice finer intricacies of your e-liquids with this one over the H11.

RBA Base

There is also an RBA base available for the nexMesh Pro Tank, and Wotofo were kind to send it through to me to check out too!

Rather than offer a coil with an RBA inside of it, Wotofo have gone the better path and provided an entire RBA deck that simply screws onto the bottom of the tank as a direct replacement to the ‘sub-ohm’ deck with the pre-made coil.

This RBA deck is a 2 post, single coil deck with airflow coming in via 20 small holes in the deck which are routed through from the side airflow slots.
This pushes air up under and around the coil for better flavour.
There is plenty of room on this deck for building considering it’s only a single coil chamber, with hex screws to hold the wire in the posts, and a conical RBA top cap that gets screwed in over the top before being put in the tank.

You get a bag of spares with the RBA base, which includes all of your o-rings, as well as single Framed Staple coil and tool for tightening the post screws.

RBA Build

Building on this deck is a breeze, there is plenty of room and the posts are really easy to work with.
Simply take the Framed Staple coil provided, thread both legs through the post holes, line it up nicely, and screw down the hex post screws. Straighten your coil again, and then pulse it on a device a little to get rid of any hotspots.

Wicking is really easy too, because this is a single coil chamber, it’s designed for larger builds, and in doing so, Wotofo have provided quite large wicking slots. Fill these up, I underestimated the amount of cotton needed at first, and got a little leaking. This RBA base wicks really really well. So put plenty of cotton in, you’re likely to not have any issues with dry hits.

It’s a great performing little RBA deck and the fact that it’s a direct replacement rather than one of those small coil inserts is a huge plus!

Any Leaks?

None, absolutely none. The nexMesh coils are excellent, fantastic flavour, dense vapour and zero leaks. In fact the only leaking that I got while using this tank was with the RBA base, and that was due to me not using enough cotton in the wicking ports.

Pros:

  • Phenomenal Flavour
  • Large e-liquid capacity
  • Various coil choices
  • Neat silicone seal for filling port
  • No leaking
  • Great build quality and styling

Cons:

  • It’s easier to remove drip tip to fill with larger bottles

Where to Buy:

You can pick up the nexMesh Pro Tank directly from Wotofo via the Wotofo online store. It’s currently priced at $34.95 USD which is a steal for the flavour and quality of vape you’ll get from this tank. Alternatively, you can also find this tank on Australian online vape stores for around about $45 AUD.

Conclusion

You can call me “well impressed” by the nexMesh Pro Tank, this really is a flavour puncher, with quality machining and a tough and sturdy feel.

Large e-liquid capacity is of utmost importance with a tank, specially one that runs large coils, and you’ll get a maximum of 6mls here, which is excellent. Switching coils is a breeze, as is filling, and the option of being able to purchase an entire RBA base that simply screws into the tank is brilliant. No finicky little coils required to turn this into an RTA tank.

I particularly enjoyed the smooth airflow and flavour from this tank. It hasn’t been noisy, and there are zero whistles, just a smooth whoosh of smooth and dense air flow coming through the three cyclops airflow slots below.

This is one setup that I’ve used extensively over the last few weeks, and because of it’s e-liquid capacity, has been an absolute pleasure to carry around with me, only needing to refill twice a day.

Excellent work on this one! It’s a fantastic tank and one that I’ll highly recommend.
