eLiquid Review 343: Pineapple Honeydew (The Fifth) by GDR Vape
I was a little vexed with this one, on the one hand I usually will not go for a Pineapple flavour, but on the other, I was curious to see if the sweetened and chilled additives in the GDR juices, might shift my opinion.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Pineapple Honeydew” from “the Fifth” range by GDR Vape.

The Review:
It’s funny, I really didn’t know what to expect with this one, and it has surprised me a little.
I thought that perhaps it might be a nasty sharp pineapple, a tonne of honeydew with a bit of sweetener, but this is a really nice flavour.
“Pineapple Honeydew” is a tasty mix that is primarily pineapple, with an underlying sweet honeydew that gives off an awesome soft chewy pineapple candy vibe. Remember those pineapple shaped jelly candies with the green top that you’d bite off first?
This tastes just like those sweets!
Individual Notes
As I mentioned earlier, the Pineapple is the primary note, it is sweet without any tartness, a real sugary pineapple candy.
The honeydew is a light note that I only notice every so often, but it adds a nice contrast to the pineapple, helping to create that classic candy flavour. There’s no dryness like you might get with many honeydew flavours, although this is probably due to the additional sweeteners.
Inhale & Exhale
The inhale is mostly pineapple, in fact most of the entire vape is pineapple based. It’s light on the inhale of course, with a little sweetness and a little gummy note coming through.
At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, I notice a little honeydew appear, not a significant amount, but enough to add a little complexity and texture to the candy pineapple. If you think about the little chewy candies, if the pineapple is the main body of it, the honeydew is the green leaves at the top. Rather than a dry, realistic honeydew, this is a sweet candylike honeydew.
The end of the exhale is a sweet jelly candy flavour that will have you coming back for more.
All in all, even though they are troublesome on coils and wicks, the sweeteners and cooling agent, help this flavour pop, and further enhance that jelly candy flavour.
Final thoughts
As with all of the other GDR flavours so far, they’re packed with sweetener and cooling agents, however I really don’t think you’d be able to create this flavour any other way.
It really is a surprisingly accurate pineapple candy, of course, while you keep your wicks and coils fresh.
While this one is not quite as bad as some of the other flavours, I needed to dry burn and rewick twice per day with this one.

GDR vape have their own website, I won’t link you to it though, as I have some real concerns about this range, and my moral compass tells me to not make it easy for people to purchase.

Tea color (Im not certain if this one contains food coloring, but I suspect so.)

Coil and wick damage:
This will undoubtedly destroy your wicks and gunk your coils within hours. Not the worst out of this set, but not the best either!
PG/VG Ratio:
This is supposed to be 70%vg/30%pg but instead has the viscosity of water. Something isn’t right here!

Steeping:
Steeping not necessary with this one
Presentation:
Fantastic presentation. This is actually one thing they have gotten right with this liquid. I received 60ml chubby gorilla bottles with childproof caps. The labels are colourful, with all of the information you might need except for the pg/vg ratio. (although that is a pretty big thing to miss!)
Caveat Emptor: These eliquids all contain food coloring also.
Test rigs:
Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
I haven’t tested in anything else, as changing wicks in this 4 times per day is enough mucking about for me.
