eLiquid Review 503: Mrs Lemon Maid from Vintage Cloud Co

This next aussie juice maker, well, we’re pretty familiar with already. I’ve previously reviewed a few of their flavours and I’ve always been pretty impressed with what they have had to offer.

If you’ve never heard of “Vintage Vape Co”, it’s a juice brand created by the same guys who brought you “Cloudz 4 Dayz”, “Cloud Co Creamery” and a few others. Based in South Australia, the master mixers that create these fantastic flavours, have been at it for quite a while (a few years now) and have become a pretty big deal when it comes to mixing delicious eliquids, well at least I think so anyway.

So, without further ado…..

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Mrs Lemon Maid” from Vintage Cloud Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

“A LEMONADE WITH A RASPBERRY & STRAWBERRY TWIST”

The Review

Lemonade is a staple in many vaper’s juice drawers, it’s a great flavour to have on hand when you’re after something fresh and juicy, sweet and light. It makes a perfect break from some of the heavier profiles like desserts that are just so popular here in the land down under.

Even better than a lemonade, is a raspberry lemonade, and this is what we have here. “Mrs Lemon Maid” is more than the simple blend you may think it is, with sweet fizzy lemonade as the main flavour, raspberry is anchored as the base, low notes that are fruity, and robust, while strawberry compliments both by tying into the sweetness of the lemonade, and it’s sharp tart highlights making up the taller notes, to make sure you get that all important peak of flavour right where it’s needed.

Individual Notes

First of all is the lemonade, its sugary sweet with a tangy, and fizzy nature, very much like a soft drink, and not a home-made lemonade.

There of course is some lemon here too, to bolster the lemonade and give it that great kick that it needs. It’s not so noticeable as an independant flavour but gives the lemonade some more dimension and pops out some of the other flavours.

The strawberry, is a sharp and tart strawberry, purely there to blend with the lemon in creating that higher note above the raspberry. We can’t have bass without treble! And this is what strawberry does perfectly, adds a little sweetness all the while popping out over the top of everything else to give you that sharp tartness in order to contrast against the more rounded base flavours.

Speaking of base flavours, this is it. The raspberry. If you’re familiar with many raspberry flavours, you’ll know that it is quite sweet, but a more floral, deeper note, I often refer to it as a lower note because it tends to pop under other flavours rather than over, and makes a great base for sharper flavours like strawberry.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale and exhale is quite difficult to describe with this, as the layering is very close together with these flavours. But to me, I get the raspberry hit first, it’s low and slow, a little floral, but full of flavour. Next is the lemonade. A little dull at this point, but as the inhale continues, the strawberry becomes noticeable too, not as an individual flavour but that slight acidic feel in the back of the mouth accompanied by a little tartness around the edges of the raspberry and lemonade. This picks everything up and gives it some dimension

Along with the raspberry, lemonade and strawberry, toward the height of the inhale, some lemon also comes into play. It builds to it’s tallest point at the end of the inhale, where I notice it the most, giving that real tang to the lemonade, and backing up the other fruits.

Over to the exhale, whilst the fruits are all still here, the lemonade becomes the main player. It strengthens in intensity on the exhale, while the raspberry base holds, and the strawberry and lemon seem to stay at the same level that they were at at the end of the inhale.

The lemonade gets sweeter and sweeter, right through until the end of the exhale, where you can lick your lips and still taste that sugary soft drink sweetness.

Final thoughts

This is a really great flavour. I’ve loved vaping it, and is an easy choice when filling up my tank or squonk bottle for the day. You just can’t go wrong with this flavour. The strength of it never drops, and you’ll find that it’s quite difficult to get tired of. No wonder it’s a best seller!

Would I have done anything different? Probably not. Perhaps the raspberry could have been made stronger, (I love raspberry) but it’s not at a weak level at all, I just like lots of raspberry.

If you’re looking to take a look at the Vintage Vape Co range, this flavour is a must buy!

Good work guys!

PS.. This juice does contain some sweetener, but it hasn’t seemed to have affected my coils or wicks at all, so must be only in a small amount.

Where to Buy:

All of the Vintage Vape Co’s flavours are available directly from the Vapen website (for now), or in store at their physical vape store in Modbury, SA. You can also pick them up from a few other online stores that stock their range of juices.

Colour:

Light honey tint

Aroma:

Lemonade/Raspberry

Coil and wick damage:

Slight damage to wicks and coils due to sweeteners over time. However I’ve not seen any decline in my setup over the 3 days I’ve been vaping it.

PG/VG Ratio:

70VG/30PG

Texture:

Sweet, light and fruity

Steeping:

No steep necessary for this one!

Presentation:

As always, Vintage Vape Co labels reflect their slogan and branding well with their vintage parchment coloured labels, and old school tattoo designs.
The name and company are clearly displayed, along with accompanying flavour specific artwork. Besides the basic ingredients and warnings list, there isn’t really anything else on them however. VG/PG ratio, additional warnings, bottle size etc.. are all non existant. If ever the labels are redesigned, I’d particularly like to see the bottle size and PG/VG ratio shown on there.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
