eLiquid Review: Melon Heaven by Sydney Vape Co

eLiquid Review: Melon Heaven by Sydney Vape Co

Welcome back for another review from one of Sydney Vape Co’s new range of flavours!

The last few e-liquids have shown Sydney Vape Co’s dedication and the work they are willing to put in to bring you top notch flavours, through their use of additional complimentary flavours and bringing you more complexity and dimension in their creations.

So far I’m liking what they’ve done with their new range, let’s see what today has to offer!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Melon Heaven” from Sydney Vape Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
“In Melon Heaven, we’ve got all our bases covered – watermelon, rockmelon and honeydew on a bed of ice with a pink guava punch. Your next all-day vape.”

The Review

Most eliquid ranges eventually add a melon flavour to their offerings, and there have been quite a few over the years. Many with a dominant honeydew tone, with other melon notes acting in supporting roles.

“Melon Heaven” is no different. This fruity blend relies heavily on it’s honeydew dominant profile, and the strength of Guava to bridge across some of the other, less intense melon brethren.

“… a strong Honeydew, with sweet Guava carrying through, bridging the softer tones of Watermelon and Rockmelon to create this sweet Melon medley”

Individual Notes

As I mentioned earlier, Honeydew is the main melon note. It’s sweet, and realistic with a little of that typical honeydew dryness and a light tang.

Guava sweeps in on this flavour, with a sweet and syrupy feel, and helps bridge all of the melons together, into a richer, and more coherent flavour. Guava works great here because it shares a similar tang to the honeydew, but instills a little more moisture.

There is watermelon here somewhere, it’s barely noticeable, but a more realistic than candy watermelon. While not a primary flavour by any stretch of the word, it’s a contributing note to the complete profile.

The Rockmelon (Cantaloupe) just like the watermelon, is difficult to pick up. But you’ll find it on the inner more complex parts of the vape, where the honeydew really dominates.

Inhale & Exhale

It’s difficult to see past the Honeydew and Guava with this one, they’re so very dominant across the vape that the focus really is on those two flavours with the others simply acting as complimentary notes.

On the inhale, you instantly get the Honeydew, it’s the usual tangy, slightly dry honeydew with an almost apple undertone. As you inhale this gets stronger, where quite an intense Guava starts to push through adding some moisture and a sugary, syrupy feel.

While it’s at this point the top of the inhale, where you’ll notice the watermelon and rockmelon first, the longer stretch of the exhale gives you more opportunity to catch those unique nuances with a little more intensity and purpose. The watermelon, offers a lighter, watery, and subdued greener note, while the rockmelon, that familiar earthy feel which tucks up under the more dominant Honeydew and Guava.

It’s smooth sailing right through to the end of the vape, where you’ll finish off with a light yet syrupy sweet melon taste.

Final thoughts

It’s interesting that as many melons were used in this. Where lesser different flavours would have been easier to deal with, Sydney Vape Co have done a wonderful job in balancing them all.

Choosing the honeydew as the primary flavour backed by the Guava, was a great move, leaving the watermelon and rockmelon to provide a little more interest and complexity to the profile.

I did find that things got a little mish-mashed and muddled in this one. It’s not quite the smooth flavour that I would have liked, and there are a few moments where some of those sharper melon notes get a little out of hand, in particular the Honeydew, which might have worked a little better if lowered just a little.

All in all, I’ve enjoyed this one very much, and it’s a sweet and refreshing vape.

Great work guys!

Presentation:

As always, Sydney Vape Co, have some impressive presentation. Each bottle comes in it’s own similarly branded box. I received 30ml clear Chubby Gorilla style bottles with black child-proof caps, tamper proof ring-seal, and needle tip dispenser.

The labelling is comprehensive with juice name, respective imagery and company logo front and centre. General warnings, ingredients, bottle size, and even flavour profile are printed on the colour coded matt finish labels.

Most impressive of all is the use of “Born on” and “Batch Number” stamps. This is a great addition to any label, and builds confidence, letting the consumer know how old their bottle of juice really is.

If you haven’t seen them yet, SVC also have some fancy pants sample boxes available, so that you can try all of their flavours in smaller bottles, the whole set is only $59.99 which is some pretty great value!

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
