eLiquid Review 506: Duke Pine Berry from Vintage Cloud Co

eLiquid Review 506: Duke Pine Berry from Vintage Cloud Co

I’ve another flavour today from the Vintage Cloud Co collection of flavours. This one is very fruity, tangy and something perfect for the sweet tooths among us!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Duke Pine Berry” from Vintage Cloud Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
“Succulent pineapple and ripe raspberry”

The Review

This flavour really does speak for itself. Where you’ll expect a punch of sweet and fresh pineapple with a little raspberry in the background for some extra complexity, that is exactly what you get!

“Duke Pine Berry” is exactly as expected. A sweet and syrupy fresh pineapple, complete with real fruit tang that will get you squinting, backed up by a rounded and robust, sweet raspberry.

There’s no menthol here folks this one is a pure fruit, straight forward and warm, no chill, no fuss. Great all year round, even in Winter!

Individual Notes

The pineapple is of course the main note, really dominating the entire flavour. It’s syrupy sweet, and has a sharp tart bite to it, just like you’d get from sinking your teeth into freshly chopped pineapple pieces! Don’t think you’ll get a tinned pineapple here, this one is fresh from the bush, cored and ready to eat!

Backing up the pineapple is some raspberry. Its a very candy raspberry, also sweet, but a little more rounded out, more a bottom end flavour, a base note. It has a slight floral, but not very noticeable, and does a great job of calming down the tart/sour pineapple a little and bolstering it with a little bit of a base line.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale on this one is pure pineapple. As mentioned before, it’s a sharp and tart, yet sweet pineapple, very tangy, slowly building up in strength through the inhale.

On the exhale, the pineapple continues to intensify as a smooth blend of sweet raspberry candy appears, just making itself known and sort of drifting in and out behind the pineapple creating further complexity and a little bit more of a base note for the pineapple to cling to.

As you exhale, both flavours blend together more and more, intensifying as they go, until you’re left with a pineapple raspberry blend that is 70% pineapple 30% raspberry.

Final thoughts

Not a bad flavour at all. I don’t typically like pineapple as I find that its a little too sharp of a flavour for me, but this one has been pretty good, and I’ve been vaping it for a few days so far without getting tired of it.

It’s difficult to find more to say about this flavour as it’s a pretty simple one, pineapple and raspberry, tart and tang, meets sweet and floral, taking advantage of both low and high tones to bring you a big fruity flavour.

Can I pick on anything here? Not really. I’d have liked it to be a little more complex rather than the straight up pineapple/raspberry that it is, but that’s it’s profile. It’s designed to be a dead simple flavour. As always, I would have actually liked to have gotten a little more raspberry from this, but again that’s pretty much personal preference because I love raspberry 😁

All in all, a good simple profile with a pineapple that actually tastes like pineapple!

Great job guys!

All of the Vintage Vape Co’s flavours are available directly from the Vapen website (for now), or in store at their physical vape store in Modbury, SA. You can also pick them up from a few other online stores that stock their range of juices.

Colour:

Light honey tint

Aroma:

Pineapple

Coil and wick damage:

Slight damage to wicks and coils due to sweeteners over time. However I’ve not seen any decline in my setup over the 3 days I’ve been vaping it.

PG/VG Ratio:

70VG/30PG

Texture:

Sweet, light and fruity

Steeping:

No steep necessary for this one!

Presentation:

As always, Vintage Vape Co labels reflect their slogan and branding well with their vintage parchment coloured labels, and old school tattoo designs.
The name and company are clearly displayed, along with accompanying flavour specific artwork. Besides the basic ingredients and warnings list, there isn’t really anything else on them however. VG/PG ratio, additional warnings, bottle size etc.. are all non existant. If ever the labels are redesigned, I’d particularly like to see the bottle size and PG/VG ratio shown on there.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
