The Review

How do I even begin with this one? I thought I had a pretty good idea of what this one was before I read the description, and now I find out it has additional tropical fruits!

Originally I put this down to being a pretty simple Honeydew Melon/Papaya and menthol blend. Now I’m questioning myself, wondering what exactly might be in here!

Are there lighter sweeter fruits like lychee/rambutan, perhaps some sharper elements like pineapple/passionfruit, what about a little mango?

“Despite the description’s trickery, I believe this is still prominently a Honeydew/Papaya blend. It has a cool menthol blast and a sweet something in the background adding more dimension.”

Individual Notes

There are some definites and some possibles in this one. I’m finding that the menthol really masks things a lot and makes it quite difficult to pick out various notes.

Honeydew. You’ll definitely notice this one, it’s the primary melon note in this flavour. Sweet yet organic, Honeydew has a distinct flavour all it’s own, and is one of the more flavoursome melons you can use. The levels here are strong, but well balanced, without going overboard.

I believe I get a bit of Papaya in here too. It’s well blended with the Honeydew, so it’s difficult to pick due to the both being easily blended. But a few tell tale signs like a slight muskiness, the consistency of the vape being slightly creamy, and a silky texture, point toward papaya and/or mango blended in here. It’s definitely a secondary flavour and you’ll be hard pressed to pick it out, because it blends so well.

Menthol. Yep, this one has a chilly menthol to it just like some of Vape Vaults other flavours. Cold and crisp, with an ever so close to perfect bitterness, Vape Vault has pushed the boundaries with how much to put in without causing it to take over. This menthol, is strong enough to mask secondary flavours, while allowing the Honeydew to still shine through.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I immediately notice the Honeydew sweet and ripe, with that bitter twist that makes it so familiar. It’s quite strong from the get-go, and only get’s stronger as the inhale continues.
In the lead up to the top of the inhale, the vape gets a little creamier, a fuller mouth feel, and a sweet back note. This I believe to be a little ripe Papaya, Mango, or similar flavour profile, adding a boost to the flavour and quite a silky and syrupy feel.

This syrupy texture is fairly short lived though! As you begin to exhale, you’ll notice the menthol in this flavour begin to come through. It’s stronger than many other juices, and in being so, also pushes a little extra dry bitterness through the flavour, masking minor notes, and really only letting that sweet honeydew through.

It strengthens through the exhale, right through to the end where you’re left with a sweet and cold, slightly bitter mouth, and the remnants of the sweet honeydew/papaya blend.

Final thoughts

This one definitely threw me. I’m still not completely convinced that there aren’t other flavours in here that I haven’t picked up on. Unfortunately the level of the menthol hides anything but the stronger flavours, making it really difficult.

I get a real breath mint feel from this flavour, not a straight up mint obviously, but one of those modern fruity mints that have that gummy, bitter menthol to them.

I’d have liked to see some of the menthol replaced with some ws23 cooling agent instead of it all being menthol. I think this would allow the other fruit notes to come through a little more and give this flavour a little more depth, and less menthol bitterness.

Overall though, I’ve enjoyed this one very much, it’s a nice contrast to some of Vape Vaults other flavours, and it’s a great flavour to have on hand, if you’re looking for something easy to vape, that you’ll want to stay on for quite some time. Definitely not easy to get tired of, and a great staple flavour for the juice cupboard!

Presentation:

I love Vape Vault’s branding. As I understand it, this range will be rebadged soon, but I have to admit, I really like their existing design.
It has a very straight forward theme, everything industrial with gearing, locks and is presented very well.

I recieved clear 60ml Chubby Gorilla style bottles with child-proof caps, easy fill thin nozzles and tamper proof seals. Very much pretty standard across Australian eliquids.

The labelling is great, with all of the information you’ll need. Name and company front and centre, with a colour coded graphic to go along with it, ingredients, warnings, PG/VG ratio, bottle size, and social media URL’s.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
