eJuice Review 328: Strawberry Bikini (Summer Holidays) by Dinner Lady

I’m up to the third flavour of the Summer Holidays range by Dinner Lady, and I’m expecting something a little different with this one. I’ve seen a lot of people on social media calling this one out as one of the best in the range, so let’s see what all the talk is about!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Strawberry Bikini” from the Summer Holidays range.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor)

Flavour Description:

Strawberries smashed with ice and dropped into a cloudy lemonade, bursting at the seams with sharp lemony goodness.

The Review:

I have to admit, I was a little wary of this one, strawberry flavours don’t have a great history with me, as they tend to be quite sweet and candy-like, and are usually overflavoured to make up for the fact that strawberry is a lighter profile than many other flavours.

Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Instantly this reminded me of a strawberry that I tried years ago, that I loved, called “Salacious Strawberry” or something of the like. It was a realistic strawberry with a light seedy overtone, and a light candy washing over it.

Like the above, “Strawberry Bikini” is a realistic strawberry hybrid, packed with flavour, it is a sharp tart strawberry, right down to the seedy notes below the surface, a touch of sweet candy, and an underlying home-made lemonade nuance, finishing up with an icy cold exhale.

Individual Notes

It feels like there are two strawberries in play here, a realistic strawberry, fleshy, tart with a little bit of an earthy, seedy nuance to it, and a more candy-like strawberry, similar to those heart shaped hard candies that come individually wrapped. Its a lovely combination and very moreish.

There is a lemon note here too, it starts off as just a touch of fresh lemon providing a little brightness and tang, that later turns into more of a home-made style lemonade, with a sweeter profile.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is a prominant realistic strawberry, with a touch of lemon biting around the edges of it. Light at this point but a good sign of things to come.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale the strawberry intensifies, with a nice earthy seedy feel coming through, as well as the lemon taking on more of a lemonade feel.
As the exhale continues, a candy strawberry creeps in with a bit of chill, slowly climbing to reach a sweet and chilled crescendo of realistic and candy strawberry, and sweet home made lemonade.

Final thoughts

A really nice flavour this one. I really like the fact that this has less sweetener and cooling agent than the other liquids that I’ve reviewed. For that it is going to get a better rating for quality. I do think it might be a little overpowering, but a little less strawberry and a little less cooling agent, and you’d have the best strawberry ever! Diluting it down with a little VG would work too!

If you’re a strawberry fan, give this one a go, you won’t regret it!

Where to Buy:

You can find the Dinner Lady Summer Holidays range in most vape stores across Australia, I won’t link to them all.
Dinner Lady do have their own website, even though you cannot purchase their juices directly, they have a tonne of information available there. Go take a look! (http://vapedinnerlady.com)

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Strawberry / Lemon

Coil and wick damage:

This juice will gunk your coils due to the sweeteners added. It’s not quite as bad as some of the other flavours though!

PG/VG Ratio:

70% VG / 30% PG

Texture:

Light, sweet and fruity with a cooling finish.

Steeping:

No steeping necessary with this one, but it may benefit from a short steep.

Presentation:

The Dinner Lady Summer Holidays range all come in 60ml Glass bottles with eyedropper tips on child proof caps. They also come in tamper evident seals. Each flavour has a different coloured bottle, which is some type of powder coating. ( It does scrape off if you try. Ive been doing this so that I can see how much is left in the bottle.)
Being an eyedropper, you get the usual leaking around the rim and consequent liquid finding its way down to the base of the bottle unless you wipe it every time.

The labels are very nice looking, giving off a homey feel, with the Dinner Lady and Summer Holidays logos as well as any other information you might need.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA on Revenger mod @ 80w
