eJuice Review 310: Castro by The Cartel Co

The juices from this range have been some killer flavours, consistantly mixed with some great profiles, but of course all things come to an end.

This is the 3rd and final flavour from the Cartel Co’s range.
Today I’ll be reviewing “Castro”!

This juice was supplied by the vendor.

From the website:

Aware that the CIA was trying to kill him, Castro refused to give up his weekly visit to the milk bar for his favourite guilty pleasure ‘’The milkshake’’. Not too rich, with a perfect combination of layered chocolate and a full scoop of ice cream, it was to die for. Not for Castro though, both the legend of Castro, and his favourite milkshake, lived on. This is that milkshake.

  • Inhale: layered chocolate
  • Exhale: chocolate milk, light classic ice cream
  • VG/PG: 70/30 The milkshake that almost killed Fidel Castro.

The Review:

I’m not one to particularly choose a chocolate profile when shopping for juice. It’s not really a conscious decision that I make, but I do tend to lean towards custards or fruits. Maybe it’s because chocolate vapes tend to kill coils and they’re really easy to get tired of.

Not so with “Castro”! This is a smooth blend of cocoa, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream, reminiscent of old school chocolate syrup drowning a few scoops of vanilla icecream!

Plus, there is no issues with gunking wicks and coils! Is that even possible?

Individual Notes

The chocolate, has a real cocoa feel to it, throughout the vape you’ll notice quick glimpses of cocoa appearing here and there. It’s also smooth and not an in your face chocolate, more leaning it’s way in intensity slowly until it hits a crescendo.

The vanilla ice cream is a lovely addition to the chocolate, it’s thick and creamy, really full textured. The only thing missing is the coolness!

I suspect there might be a touch of caramel in here. I notice it here and there. Of course I could be totally wrong but I do get that sugary sweet and rich caramel hint in the background.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale I get sweet a light cream initially that blends slowly into a cocoa chocolate.
The cocoa has some dryish traits but overall is quite light and not overpowering at all.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, I notice the chocolate gets a little stronger and a little sweeter, taking on more of a chocolate syrup feel.

As the exhale continues, the vanilla and ice cream appear, thickening up the chocolate, adding texture and that little bit more smoothness, turning the profile to a more milkshake feel.

It’s at this point I find that I’m getting a slight rich caramel note from time to time, adding another dimension and a little more complexity.

The finish is a silky smooth chocolate milkshake with dollops of icecream and pockets of chocolate syrup.

Final thoughts

Im quite impressed with this. It’s smooth and tasty, and just as importantly, does not destroy wicks or coils. This is a really clean juice for a chocolate profile. I’m still going on same wick for 3 days!

Good work on this one cartel!
