eJuice Review 356: Blue Kiwi Crush by Hunting Cloudz

So far, I’m pretty impressed with Hunting Cloudz, their range is fruit based, but you can easily see that they’ve attempted something a little different than what is already on offer out there.

Of the juices that I’ve reviewed, we’ve seen a chilled watermelon, and not just a candy watermelon, they opted with a more realistic one, which works really well. Their second flavour was a realistic Mandarin, not being content with a less true to life flavour, all caution was thrown to the wind with the emphasis on it being as close to a real Mandarin as possible.

I’m really excited for the last two flavours, I’m told that they pack some serious tartness and sourness, I’ve got a feeling my palate may not recover from all the puckering! Bring it on!

This time I’ll be reviewing “Blue Kiwi Crush” from Hunting Cloudz.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description:

A handful of blueberries and kiwi fruit made love in a blender, and here we are. Mouth-watering juiciness, you won’t be able to put it down!

The Review:

When I read the description on this, after vaping it, I immediately thought that perhaps I hadn’t shaken the bottle up enough, as the description and name says nothing about this being a tart juice. Instead “Blue Kiwi Crush” provides an assumption that it may be a sweet, chilled light fruit cocktail similar to a slushie.

Fear not, I did actually shake the bottle well, so well that I copped some in the eye as I opened the cap!

Hunting Cloudz’ “Blue Kiwi Crush” is totally a slushie flavour, just void of any chill factor. Instead, you get to enjoy the underlying smack in the face of sweet tartness that you would get from a slushie if it was never put in the freezer!

Individual Notes

The Kiwi is really tart. Really, really tart, almost sour. Which is refreshing, as many try to hide this tartness. Instead these guys have embraced it, and if anything, added to it, with I suspect a little bit of extra green apple and perhaps some citric acid. I notice that un-mistakeable acidic apple blending in with the kiwi, giving it a little extra volume.

The blueberries are sweet, and stay more as a background note. In this instance, they are bright, more candy-like, not that low down dull tone that you will usually get. This is something that I wasn’t sure would work, but Blueberry and Kiwi is actually a really good pairing!

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale I get an instant rush of Kiwi tartness. At first, it is a bit of a shock, and I get the feeling of sourness, until I realise that there is some sweetness there too. On a wet wick its quite an intense tartness, not off putting at all, but sharp kiwi tartness with a nuance of acidic green apple. Really fleshy and really really juicy!

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, I get another quick pump of tartness to start with, that quickly subsides a little, shining a hint of sweet blueberry through the palate which deepens the flavour and adding an extra layer of complexity.

I’m left with this lovely fading kiwi tartness, and rising candy-like blueberry sweetness right through to the end of the exhale. A brilliant finish!

Final thoughts

This is a lip pursing, puckering, polarizing flavour that will definitely make an impression! There is a little less tartness through a tank than an RDA, so if tartness or sourness is not your thing, I’d recommend using a tank. However if you’re game, and you should be, chuck this into an RDA, really wet your wicks, and give this one a huge inhale. It will blow you away!

The flavour intensity is awesome, and lasting, with no fading over days of vaping it, and is a really clean refreshing juice.

I would love to try this one with a little bit of cooling agent in it, it’s a good fit and would definitely suit the name!

Presentation:

Fantastic presentation here, Hunting Cloudz have paid attention to their labels with some snazzy bright graphics. These are sure to stand out when up on the shelf! I received 60ml Semi Transparent Chubby gorilla bottles with nozzle and child-proof caps.
They were already nic’d up as they were sent from NZ, and contained appropriate warnings, as well as all of the other good stuff, a label should have.

In fact Hunting Cloudz have gone above and beyond with the official side of their labels, not only listing a more extensive ingredient list than most, but also outlining nicotine warnings as well as poison information and contact details for poison information hot-lines.

The “born on” or “manufacture” date is also here, which I think is really important, it’s something that many do not display on their labels.

Kudos for this labelling guys.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 ET coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
