eJuice Review 424: Nightcall by Outrun Vape

I’ve got another flavour from our friends over at Outrun Vape today. This one is a little richer than the last one, a completely different profile in fact.

These guys are well known for their delicious desserts, and we’ve got another one to take a look at today.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Nightcall” by Outrun Vape.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Vanilla Custard is to vaping what Kavinsky’s Nightcall is to Outrun. A classic pairing that can’t be beaten.

The Review:

The description on today’s flavour is a little on the obscure side but reading between the lines, they can only mean custard and caramel as the “classic pairing”. This you’ll know as soon as you take your first taste, but what they’re not telling you about is the other flavour they’ve snuck in.

To me, “Nightcall” is a delicious blend of vanilla custard and caramel, seamlessly mixed, rich and smooth, with highlights of slightly crunchy chocolate cookie bringing the exhale a very full texture, and a complexity that is sure to blow you away.

Individual Notes

The vanilla custard is very smooth and creamy creating a fantastic base for the other flavours to play on.

The caramel is a rich caramel, more sweet than smokey or burnt, blended with the custard, it takes on quite the rich syrup feel, providing a deep and decadent feel.

Chocolate cookie, brings up the slack and bridges everything together with it’s almost crunchy texture, providing the third and final flavour in the mix. Not as crunchy as a conventional cookie, this one feels like a slightly custard soaked cookie, a really nice addition.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is very unassuming, you’ll mostly get a bit of a creamy texture here, not tainted at all by any of the more dominant flavours, at times I do pickup a light vanilla custard, but mostly the inhale comes across as a thickened sweet cream, a little fluffy, like a whipped cream.

From that light inhale, you’ll get a burst of flavour on the exhale. The instant flavour and different notes may confuse or overwhelm you at first as this dessert packs a punch. Take a step back and another draw, and you’ll begin to notice a little separation. The vanilla custard is the first you’ll notice, it is a staying flavour, carrying through the entire vape.

The next flavour you’ll notice that seems to seamlessly blend with the custard is the caramel. Sweet and Rich caramel tones create a decadent feel and a more robust base.

As your interest peaks with the caramel, you’ll notice another warmer note peek through the veil, a slightly taller note than the caramel, a cookie. It has a chocolate cookie feel, as though you’re scooping up chunks of saturated cookie through the vanilla custard. A really nice addition and adds an extra layer of complexity and blends very well with the other flavours.

The end of the exhale is a great combination of all three flavours with the underlying vanilla custard driving right through to the finish.

Final thoughts

This is a very tasty custard. I’d put it right up there rivalling many other fantastic Aussie custards. The smooth transition of custard and caramel will make even the pickiest dessert vaper happy, whilst the addition of cookie is just pure genius!

This is a must try if you’re planning on picking up some of Outrun Vapes flavours!

Well done guys!

Presentation:

I love Outrun Vape’s branding. I don’t often approach vendors and offer to do reviews, but I just couldn’t help myself with Outrun. Their branding has a really cool retro/futuristic style with neons and pre millennium film references.
I received black plastic unicorn bottles with child-proof caps, needle tip dispenser, with really cool retro labels. The labels have all of the information you’ll need on them including: PG/VG ratio, juice name, logo, warnings, even an 18+ R Rating!

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
