eJuice Review 408: Salvador Siesta by Vaper Empire

I’m onto the last of my reviews for Vapers Empire’s “Artisan” range of eliquids today, and it’s been an interesting ride, revisiting ‘mouth to lung’ vaping and using a low wattage device. At the beginning of these reviews, I wasn’t quite sure if I’d be able to vape like this for a week without needing to take a huge pull from one of my larger setups, but I’ve prevailed, and I have to admit, I’ve kind of gotten used to it!

The flavours in this range, are quite good, they are all great solid flavours mixed to a great intensity, perfect for beginners wanting to get off of the cigarettes without getting too complex on them.

If you haven’t heard of these guys before, Vaper Empire have been around for many years, catering mainly to beginners with their products centred around starter kits, and inadvertently, mouth to lung vaping. So if you’re new and just getting started with vaping, give Vaper Empire a look, their eliquids are crafted just for you!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Salvador’s Siesta” from Vaper Empire!

(This e-liquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

THE CLASSIC SPANISH DESSERT OF CREAMY HAZELNUT CUSTARD
The orange-red sun sits high above a medieval Spanish village, spilling short rays of white light across the terracotta tiles. A cool, salty breeze sweeps over the Mediterranean, momentarily cutting through the sweltering heat. Tucking in to Natillas de Avellanas, provide the creamy flavours and aromas of hazelnut and custard for a smooth and decadent opportunity to slow down and enjoy the sultry afternoon.

The Review:

My take on this one is slightly different than the description, not by a lot however, but I do notice a slight caramel in here that’s not described. It’s a blend of honey and maple, and provides a little bit of a sticky background nuance to the other notes.

Instead of being a creamy hazelnut custard dessert, I’d describe “Salvador’s Siesta” to be a “thick and creamy vanilla custard, with highlights of caramel and honey, and backnotes of hazelnut, creating a rich and decadent dessert”.

Individual Notes

The custard in this is really great, it has plenty of vanilla, is thick and creamy, and has the usual silky consistency, which is a must have in a custard! The intensity levels are spot on, with it flowing through the vape as the main flavour keeping from washing out any of the others or causing any mischief.

The hazelnut, I have to admit to not really noticing a lot. It is there, but at times can be a bit of a struggle to find, but when it’s there is a welcome addition to the custard, adding a little decadence and richness.

There is a slight caramel or maple taste here, I’m not sure if it is just a bi-product of the custard and hazelnut, but I get a distinct caramel, almost a honey feel to this. Very much like a maple syrup, running through as an undertone.

How does she vape?

This is a fantastic flavour for dessert lovers. The richness of the hazelnut, combined with the thick creamy vanilla custard makes for quite a satisfying vape.
The custard is of course the primary flavour running it’s course throughout the whole vape, it’s the first flavour you’ll touch on when taking your inhale. It’s very quickly joined by a slight caramel, sweet and thick, until a light hazelnut drifts in adding a more decadent and polished feel.

The exhale is much of the same, with the hazelnut, caramel and custard carrying on through to the end of the vape, blending together in harmony, and creating a thick rich finish, enticing you to take another toot, so that you can run through the full gammit of flavour all over again!

Final thoughts

A pretty good vape. This one didn’t really get me too excited, or push the envelope as far as innovation is concerned, but it’s a good solid custard, with a tasty hazelnut and hints of caramel undertones.

The custard is substantially thick and creamy, it’s actually a really good base with a vanilla kick, and a nice creamy mouth feel to it. I did find that the caramel gives off a little bit of a maple feel, which I didn’t really like, but that’s just a personal preference, and I’m sure there are heap of vapers out there that love it for that.

Give this one a try if you’re keen on dessert flavours, you’re going to love it!

60%VG / 40%PG

Thick full textured dessert

Steeping:

Steeping will benefit this, it is great straight away but a steep may help to tone down caramel and bring out the hazelnut.

Presentation:

I can’t fault Vaper Empire’s presentation, they’re branding packs quite the impact, being both polished and designed for the elite crowd. Sophistication is the word I guess I’m looking for. From the packaging of their starter kits through to the matt black labelling with gold/silver/bronze foil printing on their labels, it all just oozes class.
I received 10ml bottles of each of their flavours, each bottle is clear plastic with a black child-proof cap and needle tip dispenser.

The labels are classy matt black, with their logo and juice name printed in foil, creating quite an impressive look. They have a tonne of information on these labels, even if it is a little hard to read, including but not limited to bottle size, nicotine strength, best before date, warnings, ingredients and their web url.

Test rigs:

Vandy Vape Simple EX squonk kit with 22mm standard RDA and a mouth to lung clapton coil that ohms out at 0.9ohms.
I’ll be vaping somewhere between around 15-25watts.
