eJuice Review 393: Apricot – Jammed Up by Clouded Visions

This next juice vendor has made quite a splash in the Aussie market. With some strikingly brilliant flavours, and classy branding, they just keep impressing me every time I hear news about them.

Clouded Visions have a couple of new ranges that I will be reviewing, but for now, this new range, called “Jammed Up”, is their contribution to the jam on toast profile that many overseas companies have had previous success with.

How will the Aussie’s compare? Can they match the sweet, sugary and rich flavours from our American counterparts?

Read on below to find out!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Apricot” from Clouded Vision’s “Jammed Up” range.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Who doesn’t love Jam? Or butter for that matter? Clouded Visions presents its “Jammed Up” line, a full range of jam on toast inspired flavours! We’ve all tried the popular American versions, however at Clouded Visions we couldn’t help but think we could do this better! And we did, resulting in a more balanced, more coil friendly, more variety and an overall more ‘Jammy’ range of flavours.

The Review:

I can’t say that I’ve actually ever had a jam on toast before. Well not in vape form anyway. But I imagine existing flavours are quite thick and sugary, full textured and flavoursome!

The “Jammed Up” range is just that. This one in particular is an Apricot jam, sweet and full flavoured, a jelly apricot profile, with light buttery notes that come and go at various times during the vape.

Individual Notes

As I mentioned above, the apricot jam has a bit of a jelly feel to it. It’s a realistic apricot alright, with an underlying jelly or gummy note providing the jammy consistency.

There’s also a little bit of a buttery note here too. It’s quite remarkable in that it really does remind me of spreading soft butter on a warm slice of toast, those smells!

I’m not quite sure if I pick up a toast flavour in here at all, I feel as though I do, but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me. If it’s there, it’s very subtle, and you’ll be fighting yourself over whether it is there, or if this mix is fooling you into thinking it!

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, its a small blast of apricot, definitely not a totally intense apricot, but apricot none-the-less. I notice a few little inflections here of some other ingredients, like a gummy note, a little like jelly, an inference of toast and a subtle hint of butter.

Over to the exhale, and things intensify a lot. The apricot steps up a notch here, but doesn’t continue to intensify, it sort of stops to allow that sweet gummy note to catch up to it, creating a lovely sweet jelly jam feel.

As the apricot jam mix matures, I notice an underlying warm butter nuance shining through. Ever notice when you slop a hell of a lot of butter on some toast, and then jam it up, that first bite, feels like you’re sinking your teeth into a little butter too? Thats the feeling that I get on the exhale, that little bit of butter just shining through. Not overtaking the jam at all, but just another layer present.

As the exhale continues, I could swear that there is an underlying toasty note to this flavour. I could be totally wrong, and it is the combination of the jam and butter creating that expectation, but I’m finding myself looking for it, and just when I find it, it’s gone! Very clever little bit of trickery there!

The end of the exhale is a combination of the apricot, jelly jam, butter and inference of toast left on the back of the tongue, and a lingering aftertaste of apricot.

Final thoughts

What a great intro to this range. Apricot jam is a favourite from my childhood, and I know it very well. Clouded Visions have done a brilliant job replicating it in vape form, with it’s strong, jelly/gummy feel, and juicy apricot freshness.

I do still wonder if there is a toast note in here, or my brain is being totally tricked into thinking it is, I suppose we will see on the next review if the following x2 “Jammed Up” flavours have that same feel!

Fantastic work guys!

Always great presentation from Clouded Visions. Their basic unicorn bottles work really well, with no leaks and squeeze just the right amount of juice.
