Digiflavor S G MTL Tube Kit Reviewed

Digiflavor have long been Mouth to lung advocates, where other companies stuck to designing products around the more popular Direct to Lung style of vaping only, Digiflavor made sure Mouth to Lung vapers were covered in their range of gear. Starting off with the original Siren GTA, and subsequent Siren 2 GTA, and Siren 3 GTA Tanks, they’ve now pushed out a kit of sorts, and it’s not just any kit. This is a tube!

Let’s take a look at what Digiflavor have done with the new S G MTL Tube Kit!!

Big thanks goes to Digiflavor/Geekvape for sending this directly through to me for review!

General Info

Digiflavor’s new S G MTL Tube Kit is a regulated tube kit with options for both 18350 and 18650 batteries, and 3 levels of adjustable power output for a super simple all day carry for all you Mouth to Lung vapers. Essentially a combination of the Digiflavor S Tube, and their Siren G MTL tank, the S G MTL Tube Kit is the perfect combination of tight airflow, low power and high resistance for a setup that will last you all day long without needing a refill, or battery change.
Don’t let the sleek design fool you into thinking that this has limited features, it’s actually feature packed, with adjustable power outputs, locking switch, a good range of airflow adjustment, extendable tube to allow for 18350 or 18650 battery, plug and play coils, and every protection from the regulated chipset that you could think of.

The S Tube

The S Tube provides the power for this kit. It’s 22mm in diameter, a bit of a throw back to early 18650 tube mods, making it a comfortable hold, and not too bulky to carry around. This regulated tube is equipped with a spring loaded, gold plated 510 pin, with a cross pattern on the top to help avoid thread lock with tanks, a physical locking switch to disable the device when throwing into your pocket, x3 output power levels, a USB Type-C charging port, removeable tube sections for using different batteries, and a screw in battery cap for secure battery instalment.

Mechanical Locking switch

The mechanical locking switch located just under the top of the tube slides across in order to lock the device to prevent accidental firing in your pocket. How it does this is when it is on locked mode, it physically disables the fire button from being pressed. It’s a nice touch, and avoids needing to press the fire button 5 times in order to turn the device off before storing it away. Of course you can still turn it off the x5 clicks way too, but the physical switch is much quicker.

3 Output settings

The S Tube is a regulated device, equipped with x3 preset output settings. The only place that this is explained is in the manual that comes with the device.
Green is 3.7Volts, Blue is 3.4Volts and Red is 3.1Volts. Green (3.7Volts) is the default setting when you turn the device on. To change the output setting, click the fire button x3 times until you have the one you like selected.

Chipset Protection

The S Tube also comes with it’s own various protections, to keep you safe. Short circuit protection, Timeout protection, Overheat protection, and Low battery protection are all present and always on to make sure you have the best experience you can.

The Siren G MTL Tank

The Siren G MTL tank is a small mouth to lung oriented tank, built out of tough stainless steel, and finished in the same fingerprint proof coating that the S Tube mod has, so it matches quite nicely. It’s designed to run Geekvape’s G Series plug and play coils, and is the perfect fit for the S Tube mod with the same 22mm diameter, Matt/Satin finish and knurling. This little tank isn’t just small, it is mighty, with a multitude of airflow adjustment settings, even some for those who would prefer a restricted direct to lung inhale, as well as easy remove top cap for filling, and super simple coil changes with Geekvape’s G Series coils. From the top down, you have a super thin 510 drip tip, perfect for MTL vaping, 2 large kidney shaped fill ports beneath the 1/4 turn cap, a 4 stage adjustable airflow ring, and a gold plated 510 connection, so you can throw this onto any device. (Not for hybrid mechanical devices)

Filling

Filling is super easy, Digiflavor have provided a 1/4 turn cap that when removed, reveals two largish kidney shaped fill ports, so you can fill quickly and without mess. I love these 1/4 turn caps, they seal up really nicely, and provide a quick removal for fast re-fills.

Airflow Adjustment

The airflow adjustment ring on the Siren G MTL tank is clever. It has 4 sets of airflow holes that get smaller in size the further around you twist the adjustment ring. The 4 sets consist of (4,3,2,1) holes that you can adjust to any number of combinations to tweak the airflow to your perfect setting. From a restricted Direct to Lung draw right down to a tight MTL draw, you’re bound to find a setting you’ll love.

Tank Extension

Digiflavor threw in a tank extension in my package, I’m not sure if newer versions come with it or not, but out of the box, the Siren G MTL Tank takes 2mls of e-liquid, and with the PCTG extension and chimney, it is extended to the 4ml mark. The extension works flawlessly, and is a really easy swap over for a larger e-liquid capacity.

Any Leaks?

Absolutely none. This tank has been designed to minimise any seepage, having a catch cup shaped recess in the base, to make sure you don’t get any leakage out of the bottom airflow. I’ve had this sitting for days, thrown around in my pocket, bag, jacket, you name it, and not a drop of e-liquid has presented itself.

Usage

The S G Tube Kit is pretty straight forward as far as usage is concerned. Digiflavor have made sure that this device is super easy to use, with minimal need to adjust anything due to all of the automatic coil detection settings. There are 3 power modes to speak of, which are easily switched between with x3 clicks of the fire button. When you choose each setting a small LED lights up near the USB Port to show you which setting was chosen.

Green is 3.7Volts
Blue is 3.4Volts
Red is 3.1Volts

Other than the power modes, x5 clicks of the fire button turns the device on/off, and you can slide the small lock switch near the top of the tube across to lock or unlock the fire button, for easy storage in your pocket or bag.

Pros:

  • Great small size, style and feel
  • Excellent finish
  • Different battery configurations 18350/18650
  • x3 power adjustment modes
  • Available tank extender
  • Takes Geekvape G series coils
  • Lockable switch
  • All the protections you’ll ever need
  • Excellent Mouth to lung vaping (and RDTL)
  • Easy fill, easy charge, easy coil changes

Cons:

  • Lock switch is a little stiff

Where to Buy:

The Digiflavor S G MTL Tube Kit is still under preorder, so you’ll need to go directly through Digiflavor/Geekvape to pre-order one. Geekvape run the show, so you can head over to the Geekvape online store to pre-order the Digiflavor S G MTL Tube Kit. It’s priced at around the $50 USD mark which is a really great price for the quality of hardware you’re getting. Great value!

Conclusion

I’ve really enjoyed the S G Tube kit from Digiflavor. I love my DTL setups, but also enjoy a MTL vape every so often, specially if it works really well out of the box just like this does.
Digiflavor have gone against the POD trend and brought out a quality regulated tube mod with a flavoursome, and easy to use tank in this kit, and I thank them for it. It oozes quality, and is not only sturdy, but I can see this lasting for many years to come considering that it uses an external battery. In fact, if you can find a small RBA coil that matches the Geekvape G series coils, you’ll be able to enjoy this setup, long after the G Series coils become obscure and eventually unavailable. Having said that, I don’t see these coils disappearing anytime soon, since they are used on many devices already.

I particularly like the simplicity of this setup. Plug and play coils, low wattage, high resistance vaping, with only ‘one’ button and an airflow adjustment ring that has that many options, you’ll easily find a setting you’ll love.

If you like this style of vaping, throw in some Nic Salts, an 18350 battery, and you’ve got yourself a durable setup, that rivals the size of any Pod device, but the longevity of a high end setup.

Great work Digiflavor. Loving this!
