Augvape Druga RTA Review

Augvape Druga RTA Review

Welcome back for another review folks. Today I’ve got something that is a little new yet a bit classic all the same.

You would have heard of Augvape, they’ve been around quite a while, and are probably best known for their Intake RTA and Druga RDA. To take the latter on in a more literal sense, today’s review is a new addition to the Druga range, this time an RTA!

Let’s check out Augvape’s Druga RTA!

Big thanks goes to Augvape, who sent this out for the purposes of review!

General Info

On opening the box, I couldn’t help but notice that the Druga is quite a classy looking little tank. I received the silver version, which looks really nice on pretty much any device. I’ve been using mine on Augvapes new Foxy One mod, which I’ll be reviewing shortly. It looks like it belongs on it!

It’s only a small little thing, measuring in at only 24mm diameter by 39.5mm tall. Now RTA’s aren’t new, and even more so single coil smaller RTA’s. My entire experience with the Druga RTA is reminiscent to using one of Wotofo’s Serpent Mini’s, that I used quite a bit a few years back. The size is similar, and it even vapes very similarly.

The Druga RTA comes with 2 different glass sections, a straight glass tank which will hold up to 2.4ml of eliquid, with an optional bubble glass provided in the box which will hold up to 3.5ml.

It’s 24mm in diameter which is small enough to fit on most devices and look great at the same time, all while keeping to a decent width to allow most builds of coils to fit.

The Deck

I really like the deck in the Druga RTA, it’s a nice combination of small and condensed, yet large enough to fit most coils, and to fit some really cool multi-directional airflow inside.

You have two posts, but 4 post screws with a positive and negative block on each side, which allows you to use most coils no matter which orientation they have been wound. If the legs are on the same side, not a problem, you can use the two posts on the one side, if the leg’s go in opposite directions, still no problem, use the opposite blocks!

Trapping the wire under the screws is super simple, but one thing I would have liked is hex bolts rather than phillips head screws just for a little more leverage. One thing I’d love to see on RTA’s and RDA’s are square drive screws.

Airflow

As you can see from the photos, Augvape have provided 2 cyclops style airflow holes, one on each side of the tank at the bottom. These adjust with the airflow adjustment ring, which has quite a nice tension to it. Not to tight and not too loose. I did notice that it can be quite difficult to adjust the airflow when the tank is on a device however. This is due to how narrow the airflow control ring is.

The airflow travels through these cyclops style holes directly up through the deck and out of the 3 way airflow holes direct to the coil, giving brilliant flavour and a nice dense vape.

There’s quite a range of airflow on this tank, going from a nice tight MTL type of vape right through to a restricted DTL. I also notice that the airflow is affected by how large of a coil you use too. A larger 3mm diameter coil will give you a little less airflow than a 2.5ml diameter coil. So if you want a little more airflow, give a 2.5ml diameter coil a try.

Filling

Filling couldn’t be easier. Unscrew the top cap and fill via the two large kidney shaped fill ports. The top cap unscrews easily, it also catches really well so you won’t have too much trouble getting it back on either. I did note that the thread is quite short, so there is the potential that the top cap could unscrew unintentionally, but I haven’t had that happen during my time with it.

Building

Building on the Druga RTA is super simple too. Place your coil, trapping the legs in the correct blocks, and screw them down. you’ll likely need to rejig the coil a little as the screws tend to twist the coil as they are torqued down, but a quick manipulation with your coil tool will line it back up.
Clip your legs off, give it a dry fire making sure to get any hotspots out of it and you’re ready for wicking!

As for the wicking, you’d wick this RTA just like any other, feed your cotton through the coil and clip it shortish on each end. I like to rest my cotton on top of the wicking holes for better wicking, and this works really well on this RTA. While the wicking holes are quite large, I fear tucking cotton into them might restrict wicking a little with you potentially getting dry hits.
Wicking like this worked great up to about 40 watts for me.

Any Leaks?

Surprisingly, I’ve had zero leaks. Normally I’d experience a little leaking or even a half tank dump from a bottom airflow RTA at times, but not this little champion. Easy to fill, and it will vape right down to the bottom of the tank.

Pros:

  • Excellent flavour
  • Great small size
  • Great build quality
  • Ok eliquid capacity with the 3.5ml bubble glass
  • Nice airflow control
  • Good looking tank
  • Can get a nice tight MTL airflow

Cons:

  • Airflow can be difficult to adjust when on device
  • Larger coil will restrict airflow further

Where to Buy:

You can pick up the Augvape Druga RTA directly through Augvape’s AliExpress store, for around the $22 USD mark, which is a pretty good price for a quality tank such as this.

Conclusion

I’ve had a wonderful experience with the Druga RTA, it’s a great little tank with some awesome flavour. It is more of a restricted Direct to Lung tank, which will also get you down to a tight MTL airflow, so you won’t get massive airflow through it, but for someone who likes their vape a little restricted, or those who like a tight Mouth to Lung vape, it will be perfect.

It’s small enough to not overshadow your device, with a nice little airflow control ring, easy top fill design and multidirectional airflow straight to the coil. Augvape have put a lot of thought into refining this tank and it shows in its performance.

Great job on this Augvape!
