Geekvape Zeus Nano Tank Review

Geekvape Zeus Nano Tank Review

Something a little different has come across the pond this time, and I’ve been merrily vaping on it for the last few weeks, it’s not the sort of thing I’d normally get to review, with all of the Pod kits and Pod Mods around these days. So it’s a little refreshing to get stuck into a Sub-Ohm tank, and not a huge high wattage beast either, this one is a little smaller than your usual large coiled tank, it’s a Nano!

Yep that’s right, this tank is the smaller brother to the Zeus Tank.
The Zeus Sub-Ohm tank is well known for being a flavourful and leak proof tank due to it’s top air flow, and the Nano is no different!

Let’s check out the Geekvape Zeus Nano Tank!!

Big thanks goes to Geekvape for sending this through for me to review!

General Info

Just like it’s big brother in not only looks but style and functionality, the Zeus Nano, has top airflow for leak-proof vaping, a 1/2 turn removeable top section for easy filling, extra bubble glass so you can get 3.5mls of e-liquid in there, and one of the best bits….. it takes Geekvape Boost Coils!!!

The Zeus Nano, is constructed of stainless steel, just like most others, and depending on which colour you get, the finish will be either straight up stainless steel, anodised, or with a special durable coating that seems not quite powder coated, and definitely not just a paint. It must be a heat treated coating of some sort. Either way the finish is exemplary, with a very clean looking design, exactly like the larger Zeus, just proportionately smaller.

It’s a wee little tank, coming in at only 22mm in diameter, and about 55mm in height including 510 pin and drip tip, so the perfect match for some of those smaller mods you might have laying about.

Up top is a removeable 510 drip tip, made from delrin, with a smallish center which caters well for MTL or restricted DTL vaping, with a spare in the bag of the exact same size.

Under that is the fill cap, which unscrews 1/2 a turn to reveal 2 kidney shaped fill ports on either side. You’ll notice the adjustable airflow ring here also, the airflow holes are cyclops style holes that adjust from wide open to completely closed, allowing you a range of airflow options. The ring has a stopper so that it doesn’t spin all the way around, a nice little addon, so you can adjust your airflow without looking and know exactly where it’s at.

Installed is a 2ml straight glass tube, (you also get a 3.5ml bubble glass tube in the box) which sits nice and snug, and neatly against both ends of the tank when screwed down.

The base of the tank unscrews to reveal your push in coils (boost coils) with great machining and threading, pulling this tank apart is quite easy, at the same time leaving a snug feel to everything, so that you know it won’t simply come apart by itself.

The 510 pin on the bottom protrudes quite nicely too, so you’ll be able to use this on those old 22mm diameter hybrid mech tubes you might have laying around 😉

Airflow

The airflow on the Zeus Nano is just like the original Zeus, with airflow coming down from the top cyclops air holes, down into the chamber and into the section where the push in coil’s air inlets are, sort of down, around and then up. This gives the Zeus Nano a characteristic whoosh sound when vaping, but also providing a nice and dense flow of vapour.

You won’t get a really open airflow out of this, it’s primarily focused on those who are looking for a restricted direct to lung, or a loose Mouth to lung vape. As a consequence, you won’t be kicking this at 70 watts, it’s a tank more suited to 35 Watts and under.

Filling

Filling is pretty straight forward, unscrew the top cap 1/2 a turn to remove it, and fill using the 2 kidney shaped fill holes provided. I’ve noticed that due to the inner ring and threading here, that it can be a tight squeeze getting some e-liquid bottle tips in here. Not only that, when using the 2ml glass, there is some restriction due to liquid viscosity, that limits you to filling the tank slowly. If you try to fill too fast, you’ll get a spill.

Small issues in the grand scheme of things, but something for Geekvape to mull over and fix if they feel it necessary. I personally don’t have an issue with filling slower than normal, it would get annoying though if this was a larger capacity tank.

Coils

The coils for this sub-ohm tank are everywhere, you’re not going to find them becoming obsolete any time soon. Due to the Geekvape Boost’s popularity, these Geekvape B Series coils are easy to find.
I received 2 types of B Series coils in the pack.

  • Geekvape B series Coil 0.4ohm.25-33W) (Pre-installed)
I’ve been primarily using this coil, it puts out some nice warm vapour, but will chew through your juice quite quickly. Best pop the bubble glass on the tank when using this coil!
  • Geekvape B series Coil 0.6ohm.15-25W
This coil restricts the airflow down a little more, and is suited more for an open MTL draw, or a very tight DTL inhale. It’s a little restrictive for my usual DTL vaping, and a little loose for how I like my MTL vapes to be. It’s a lovely flavourful coil, but just not how I like to vape.

Any Leaks?

I haven’t experienced any. None what-so-ever, and I wouldn’t expect to with a top airflow tank. Of course leaks can happen anywhere, but if your o-rings are good and the seal to your coil is good, you can’t really go wrong here.

Pros:

  • Spectacular flavour
  • Easy coil installation
  • Easy filling
  • Small form factor
  • Takes Boost coils
  • Standard 510 removeable drip tip
  • Adjustable airflow

Cons:

  • Filling can be cumbersome and slow
  • It drinks e-liquid (I recommend using the bubble glass)
  • Tank glass can be tricky to swap due to the 2 o-rings that you have to get the glass past, but done once, you’ll remember for the 2nd time.
  • No really tight MTL option

Where to Buy:

You can get yourself a Geekvape Zeus Nano Tank directly from the source, by visiting the Geekvape Online Store. You’ll find it there for $24.99 USD which is a steal for something that has just been released.

Conclusion

All in all the Zeus Nano is a really great nano tank for restricted DTL vaping, there are a tonne of positives, just like the original Zeus Sub-Ohm tank.
Geekvape have done really well on their build quality, styling and general usage of this tank with one real let down.

You can’t get a really tight MTL draw from it.

Considering that this is marketed toward Mouth to Lung vapers, it falls a little short in that department. You can get a MTL vape from it, but it’s quite loose, which will be a let down for true die hard MTL vapers that prefer a really tight draw.
Perhaps a higher resistance coil with a narrower inlet might tighten that draw up a little and get it past the line, but the two coils that come in the box won’t get anywhere near a tight MTL airflow.

If you love a loose MTL draw however, you’re onto a winner. The flavour from the Zeus nano is excellent, and it is a really well thought out tank.

Contrary to many others, I actually prefer the 1/2 turn removeable fill cap on the top, (Ive always hated swing caps) so Geekvape get a big thumbs up from me there. And the leak-free top airflow is also really appealing for those who like to pocket their smaller setups and not have juice leak everywhere.

I’m impressed! Great work Geekvape!
