e-Juice Review: Floss from VAPR Labs

Welcome back gang, it’s Friday and what better way to celebrate than an e-liquid review! Well, I’m sure there are plenty of better ways but an e-liquid review is always interesting 😀

It’s slow going but I’m moving along with this range of flavours from VAPR Labs, a hubbie and wife team from Melbourne that are passionate about their flavours and have been in and around the Aussie vape scene for a few good years now.

Specifications:

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, an immediate rush of sugar fills the air and that recognition of something I’ve had before hits home. It’s fairy floss or “Cotton Candy” as it’s known in the US, and it carries quite a unique and memorable flavour along with it. Sticky sugar, a little burnt but whipped up, sweet and strong ready to devour.

It’s at a pretty decent strength right from the get go, only getting stronger and more defined as you go.

At the top of the inhale, I notice that slight burnt note hit home, that flavour you can only get from the real spun fairy floss at a show. It’s at its strongest here at the top of the inhale, backed by that sticky sweet sugary goodness, you can even smell in the air!

Through the exhale that burnt note disappears as the sweet toffee sugar smoothes over it driving this simple but tasty flavour all the way home.

My Thoughts

This is a wonderfully accurate Cotton Candy flavour. Absolutely reminisce of chowing down on that sticky stuff while at the Royal Show!

I have had some issues with this however and while it’s nothing to do with the flavour, it does affect the vape significantly.

There is something in here that ruins the wicking of this juice. I’ve noticed an oily residue on my hands after handling it and washing my hands that only spirit based cleaners gets rid of, and even then it’s difficult. Being that this juice is also quite cloudy, it puts doubt into my mind of what is actually in it.

I got a little suspicious when trying to run this through my OXVA Origin X RDTA and it simply wouldn’t wick. I thought, perhaps this is just difficult to wick correctly and proceeded to try it on both my Smok TFV9 and the OXVA Origin X POD which are both known for their excellent wicking.

After 10 minutes I noticed that wane in flavour and the wicking Nott keeping up. Another few puffs and BOTH of those coils burnt out.

It’s a little disappointing considering that this juice is really tasty, and so damned close to the real thing it’s not funny.
