eLiquid Review 459: Aromatic Tobacco by Australia Vape Co

Happy New Year to everyone! For my first review for 2019, coincidently we have the last review of the Australia Vape Company collection that I have here. This one is a completely different profile than the others that I’ve already reviewed, but last is not least, and least is not last, let’s get stuck into it!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Aromatic Tobacco” by Australia Vape Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

Combining barrel-aged vanilla cream with notes of toasted almond and caramel with a well primed, air-cured Virginia tobacco base, producing an earthy, aromatic and balanced profile, ideal for Virginia tobacco lovers.

The Review

Tobaccos are really difficult to get right, no matter how hard we try, replicating that unique smokiness, and flavour that comes from cigarettes, pipe tobacco, or even cigars, is close to impossible with the concentrates that are available to us. All that can be done is to fine tune and fine tune some more, in order to get the profile as close as possible.

Fine tuning is exactly what Australia Vape Company have done here. This flavour is a hybrid tobacco, containing traces of various complimentary notes in order to create a complex flavour that will keep you tasting new angles with every puff.

Combining vanilla, and toasted almond, to a Virginia tobacco has worked really well for this flavour, enabling the sweet tobacco to stand out whilst allowing the complimentary notes to add just that little bit of extra flavour.

Individual Notes

Of course the Virginia tobacco is the primary note here, it’s a sweet and earthy tobacco, a little bit of a vegetal note, slightly wet, and very reminiscent of a pipe tobacco.

It’s joined by a smokey vanilla note, a little creamy, but not overly so and definitely not creating a dessert feel, just that light floral feel that blends very nicely with the tobacco.

As well as vanilla, you’ll notice a nutty feel to this one, that comes from the toasted almond that has been added. I’ll be honest, I did originally think that this was just another generic nut or possibly the typical hazelnut that is added to tobaccos, but now that I have read the description, can detect that almond and it certainly explains the light toasted or roasted feel that I get from this juice.

There is also a light caramel note here too. Again, like the vanilla, it’s lightly blended, as to not overthrow the tobacco, and adds a sweetness that the tobacco cannot provide.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, the tobacco is of course the main note. The virginia tobacco, is classically sweet, with an earthy note to it. With it is a light nuttiness, presumably from the toasted almond, and the smallest amount of vanilla providing a little floral.

Switching over to the exhale, of course the flavour intensifies, with the tobacco, vanilla, and toasted almond each getting stronger at even levels, whilst a light hint of caramel works it’s way into the mix.

This flavour deepens considerably on the exhale, as the blend of vanilla and caramel create an extra level of richness and the almond with the tobacco, a very pipe tobacco feel.

Final thoughts

This is quite a nice tobacco, as tobacco flavours go. It has a very nice smokiness to it, while the vanilla, caramel, and almond work brilliantly with the virginian tobacco, helping to smooth it out, and add some more character.

As with most tobaccos, I’m of course noticing that vegetal or plant like earthiness to it quite a lot. Something that you don’t get when smoking a tobacco, but at the same time, I know the majority of tobacco concentrates impart. It’s an unfortunate thing, but it is what it is, and Australia Vape Co have done their best to hide that a little with these additions.

Overall, this is a tobacco flavour that I haven’t had any issues with, it has a decent amount of flavour to it, doesn’t destroy wicks and coils, and isn’t one of those that you get tired of quickly.

Well done guys!

Presentation:

Simple yet professional. I don’t know what it is about these labels, they are really clean looking, while being very minimalistic, and simple. The pastel colour coded label relates to the flavour inside, and there is mostly the standard amount of information provided on them. Company name, and juice name front and centre, with bottle size, PG/VG ratio, a little bit of info about the juice range, nicotine strength (which is zero), ingredients, warnings, manufactured by statement, and I’m not sure how accurate this is because it’s on the bottle itself between the seams of the label, a used by date. There is also a clear embossed sticker on the front, that I assume is to show that it’s the real deal.

The bottles are 60ml dark tinted Chubby Gorilla ‘type’ bottles with needle tips and screw cap lid that has a fresh seal, and child-proofing built in.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
