eLiquid Review 430: Mistress Lychee by Vintage Cloud Co

Back to one of our South Australian favourites today! Vapen have been around quite a while now, and own several different eLiquid lines that they sell straight out of their stores. Todays juice is from one of them, in particular their “Vintage Cloud Co” range. This range came about earlier in the year, I reviewed the original flavours from Vintage Cloud Co about 9 months ago, and now they have a few more added to the juice line. Let’s see what it’s all about!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Mistress Lychee” by Vintage Cloud co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

Lychee, Lychee & Lychee with a twist of lemon on ice!!!.

The Review:

I tried this one a while back (someone else was vaping it at the time), and have been looking forward to giving it a go myself, and vaping it for a bit longer than just a few puffs. I do remember being pretty impressed with it back then, and as soon as I took my first toot this time around, I’m equally impressed.

“Mistress Lychee” is a very sweet and juicy lychee, smooth and fruity with a sweet lemon/lemonade base and a little bit of cooling for good measure. The blend of these fruits packs a punch in the flavour department and is sure to get those tastebuds going!

Individual Notes

Individual notes are going to be a little hard to come by with this juice, since it’s a dominantly Lychee flavour, but the Lychee is sweet, fruity, with a slight floral and after vaping it for a while, can also impart a slight bitterness. It’s not totally authentic or real lychee, as it has a slight candy feel to it.

There is also a little lemon here too, presumably to counter that little bit of bitterness that Lychee can give off in higher concentrations and smooth it out. The lemon also provides a lemonade base to this, slightly tangy, but not overkill, and really compliments the lychee nicely.

….and there is WS23 in here also, you’ll notice it on the inhale rather than the exhale, and it is pure chill. The level of coolness is quite nice, it is stronger than many other similar juices, but you get used to it very quickly.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale here is mostly Lychee, although I do notice a touch of lemon coming through. The lychee is sweet with a hint of floral. Not a dry floral like some, Vintage Vape co have made sure that the floral sits at the back of your mouth, while you enjoy the juicyness of the fruit up front and centre. The lemon is light and really is just a complimentary flavour at this point.
As the inhale continues, you’ll notice the cooling sensation kick in and intensify, the further you inhale, finally reaching it’s peak at the top just as you are about to exhale. This combined with the juicy lychee and light lemon makes for a really refreshing inhale.

On the exhale, you’ll notice the cooling sensation still happening, however its in more of a diminishing fashion, as both the Lychee and Lemon intensify. The lychee continues it’s sweet and juicy nature as the lemon takes on more of a lemonade feel, picking up with a bit of sugary sweetness. It’s at this point with the intensifying fruits and cooling sensation falling away a little that you might notice a little bitterness in the lychee.

This becomes more apparent the more you focus on the contrast between the lemonade and the lychee. The lemonade becomes sweeter so you’ll notice the natural nuances in the lychee appear. It’s not a bad bitterness, on the contrary, it’s part of the lychee, the natural fruit side of things and should be there.

As the exhale continues, everything sweetens up even more and the lychee falls back in favour with the lemonade, creating a lovely juicy lychee lemonade finish, with the cooling sensation still there, yet fading off a little, right up until the end of the vape.

Final thoughts

This is a great flavour for summer, very juicy, and has that nice chilled cooling effect to it. The weather here has been quite warm and humid over the last few days, and this one has gone down a treat! Lychee by it’s nature has quite a sweet flavour, so you can expect this one to be one sweet fruit vape.

I did notice that prolonged vaping of this, a few days, exposed a slightly bitter taste in the lychee that seemed to come through more and more, as my tastebuds became used to the sweetness. This can happen with many fruit based flavours, so only a minor gripe, but it is something that I noticed all the same.

If you’re looking for a juicy and refreshing vape, as this warmer weather kicks in, go grab yourself a bottle of “Mistress Lychee”, you can thank me later as your mates are dealing with hot vapes and dessert flavours, while you’re sitting back chilled out with a fresh fruit with a chill!

Presentation:

As always, some very nice presentation here. I recieved a 60ml Chubby Gorilla type clear bottle, with needle tip and childproof lid. The labels look great, they have a bit of a parchment coloured background, with old school tattoo styled graphics. The information on the labels is sparse mainly consisting of where the product is made, the juice line, the flavour name, general ingredients and minimal warnings.

These bottles are really cool, while similar in shape to Chubby Gorilla bottles, with these, you can take the cap, and place it over the nozzle, pulling to one side, and the whole nozzle/needle assembly can be removed quickly, for adding nicotine, or diluting the flavour. I believe these are custom bottles only available in Adelaide.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
