e-Juice Review: Sunrise – Strawberry Banana by Belmont Vape

It’s the end of the week, and to send you off into the weekend with a smile, I have another e-liquid review for you!

This next flavour is from the Belmont Vapes Originals range that I’ve been reviewing this week. So far I’ve shown you 3 of the 5 flavours, this is the 4th, with one more left to do, after I’ve vaped it over the weekend.

If you’re not familiar, Belmont Vape Ejuice Co, hail from Victoria, and started producing their eliquids back in 2013. This range was inspired by wanting to bring some classic flavours to market, some of their ‘tried and true’ recipes.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Sunrise – Strawberry Banana” from Belmont Vape.

The Review

You might be forgiven for thinking that this is just another ‘sharp strawberry/quiet banana’ blend, fruity yet indistinguishable, and you’d be forgiven for assuming so. As many blends including these two fruits, are usually ‘OK’, but not quite hit that unique spot, or have that ‘wow’ factor.

Sunrise – Strawberry Banana, is different than most, as soon as you vape it you’ll realise why!

Individual Notes

The strawberry that is used here, is a natural strawberry. There’s still a slight artificial note in here, but it’s mainly more of a strawberry ripe flavour. Not quite as sharp as you might expect, sweet with a slight tartness at the top of the inhale.

The banana is similar, although I wouldn’t call it a natural banana. It’s more of a banana cream with a thicker tail end, and a sweet overtone. It does share some traits with a real banana, a slight dryness on the exhale, just as you’d get from the real thing.

Together, they create an almost bubblegum type of flavour, it’s not full on bubblegum, but there is an undertone there that is absolutely there, and reminisce of those old school bubblegum sticks or bubblegum balls you’d get in cheap candy toys. Sweet, with a little dry dullness to them, with a gummy candy feel.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, both flavours hit at the same time, the strawberry and banana, both blend together straight off the bat, they’re quite light at this point, as flavours usually are on the inhale.

Once you hit the top of the inhale however, things get a little more dynamic, with the banana keeping quite a low profile, all the while still there, cleanly blended with the strawberry. But here, you’ll notice the sharper strawberry notes appearing. A light tartness, and sweetness sharpen things up, pulling the strawberry flesh notes into the foreground, with the banana lobbing along in the background.

As you exhale, the strawberry dials back a little, letting the silky smooth banana back into the fray, along with a third flavour, the result of this specific blend, an dry almost bubblegum note appears, as the banana folds back into the strawberry.
The taller strawberry tartness seems to hold firm, while this thicker, base note of banana and gum richen, and become more noticeable.

The rest of the exhale is a wonderful blend of the sharper strawberry and the sweeter duller banana and gummy notes all working in tune with each other, pushing out this unique profile.

Final thoughts

I really dig this flavour. The last few days, I’ve been experimenting with it in various tanks and RDA’s and that gummy note is still there in all of them.
As a consequence of doing that, I do note that this flavour works really well in a tank or a small chambered atomizer where the different fruit notes are more defined, but you’ll easily enjoy this in an RDA with full on airflow too.

Now, whether that gummy note was on purpose, or if it were a happy accident, I’m loving it. It brings a bit extra to the profile, and adds a lot more dimension. As you all know I’m a sucker for unusual mixes, and I’m always intrigued by some of the textures and profile changes that blending certain flavours together can create.

This is a well blended, interesting, mix of strawberry and banana, with a lovely texture and surprisingly satisfying profile, fruit vapers will love.

Presentation:

Excellent presentation here. Belmont have done a great job with their labels, portraying what they were going for perfectly. Think old school cordial, or fruit and veg shop logo and lettering.

I received 60ml chubby gorilla bottles, with child-proof and tamper proof lids, and a needle tip dispenser.

The labels are of a lovely design, with different coloured backgrounds for the differing flavours, and fancy old school graphics.

Front and center is the logo, juice name and flavour profile, and on the back you’ve got all the info you’ll ever need, ingredients, warnings, PG/VG ratio, bar code, and there’s even a bit of information on the back describing the juice range.

Test rigs:

Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
