eJuice Review 397: Sweet As – Geeks – Strawberry & Grape by Clouded Visions
Clouded Vision’s “Sweet As” range is going down really well over here at Vapers Garage headquarters, these guys don’t muck around, balancing flavour accuracy, intensity, and sweetness for a candy/lolly or sweet without belting the hell out of your wicks and coils is no easy feat.
It’s definitely an art, knowing that you’ve got limits and you need to push your flavour right up to the line, while making sure you’re delivering a tasty and not short lived or coil killing flavour.
Clouded visions are masters at this, and just like all of the flavours that have come before, they’ve worked their magic again with today’s flavour!
Today, I’ll be reviewing “Geeks – Strawberry & Grape” from Clouded Vision’s “Sweet As” range.

Flavour Description
A favourite of ours growing up, with that instantly recognisable distinctive flavour that’s sure to bring out the Nerd in all of us.
The Review:
The last review that I did a few days ago, was for a similar profile, Watermelon & Apple was the flavour, and it was, just as this is, a sweet and sour candy, reminiscent to “Nerds” sweets.
You remember the ones, those small odd shaped lollies that came packaged in a colourful box that you’d literally just empty into your mouth, and overload yourself with not just sugar but a tastebud destroying mix of sweet and sour all at the same time, making sure you couldn’t taste anything for about 2 days later.
Yeah you remember. I saw that smile. It’s funny because as diabetes inflicting as these little things were, you couldn’t help but just smash them all in one sitting, no matter how much they made the nerves in your teeth spasm.
Anyway, the Strawberry & Grape variety were a favourite among many, including myself, and they just had such a unique flavour to them, quite sharp, but also juicy and sweet.
Clouded visions have done a great job replicating this flavour in vape form, so that we can all enjoy it without the tooth decay 🙂
Individual Notes
Just like the last review, both flavours in this profile are very hard candy-ish, with a tonne of sweetness and a little bit of sour.
The strawberry is probably the more dominant of the two, but the pairing works really well with both complimenting the other creating that one unique candy flavour.
Inhale & Exhale
On the inhale, the Strawberry dominates, actually the strawberry dominates most of the way through. With it’s artificial sweetness and softer strawberry notes coming through as a hard candy rather than one of those strawberry chews.
The grape is here also but really dialed back, and simply there to compliment the strawberry and add a little complexity.
I also notice a little bit of a gummy note to the inhale, perhaps not gummy but almost a pocket of non-flavour, the sweetness of the Vegetable Glycerine shining through the sweeter notes of the strawberry and grape.
The height of flavour intensity for this juice arrives at the top of the inhale, just as you begin to exhale, its a sharper brighter note, that shows up as a little sourness, not quite as sharp as you’d get with the real candy, but still giving that authentic feel.
Over to the exhale, I notice that lull in flavour disappear and the grape pick up a little, while not stronger than the strawberry, it intensifies a little more further supporting but also bringing in a grape or slight grape bubblegum note, that provides some extra sweetness and depth.
Both flavours mingle and mix as you get further along on the exhale, creating a combined familiar profile that you will automatically recognise as “Nerds” candy.
Final thoughts
Just like “Watermelon & Apple”, when taste testing on the finger, this one is a totally spot on Nerds flavour, and again just like the “Watermelon & Apple” its not quite as convincing when vaped. The sourness is just not as tart and bright as it should be, and this is more sweet than that familiar hard hitting sour punch. In my experience, sourness just doesnt convert very well when vaping, so all can be pretty much forgiven.
I have really liked this flavour, and been vaping it non stop. I’ve found that on a really wet wick this flavour seems to perform a lot better, so a saturated RDA with a big juice well will work great, or even better, grab a tank to run this one through, for that full flavour hit.
Very much on par with “Geeks – Watermelon & Apple” but I personally like this one more.. Well done guys!

Presentation:
Always great presentation from Clouded Visions. Their basic unicorn bottles work really well, with no leaks and squeeze just the right amount of juice. I received 30ml clear plastic bottles with child-proof screw cap lids and needle tip dispensers. The labels are mostly glossy white with classy graphics, the clouded visions branding, juice range and name of juice. You’ll also find other information on there such as PG/VG ratio, and the general ingredients line.
Test rigs:
Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
