e-Juice Review: Blackcurrant from Simply E-liquids!

Welcome back to another week, it’s been a long while between juice reviews, so I’ve decided to start the week off by continuing on with the ‘Simply’ range, brought to you by Vapoureyes and Vapoureyes NZ!

This range is the result of a collaboration by several popular e-liquid brands: Vapoureyes, Mr Wicky, Alpine Cloud Co, and Bogan Brews!
It was designed to be a range of straight up, ‘Simple’ flavours that vapers can turn to for a good solid vape, with no messing around with exotic blends or unusual pairings. Apple is apple, blackcurrant is blackcurrant, and mango is mango with this range!

Let’s take a look at “Blackcurrant” from the Simply range.

Specifications:

Inhale & Exhale

There really isn’t a lot of difference here on the inhale and exhale, only the flavour intensity changes and perhaps a few little inflections that you may not notice.

The inhale gives you an instant blackcurrant candy, it’s mostly a hard candy flavour, sweet and with that real sugary and dynamic blackcurrant note. There aren’t any harsh notes or profiles here, just a simple robust blackcurrant hard candy that reaches it’s peak right at the top of the inhale.

As you exhale, things wind down a little with the intensity lessening and the blackcurrant getting more of a jelly candy vibe. It’s not quite as flavoursome, but even sweeter than it is on the inhale.
The level and distinctness of that jelly or gummy note is really the only difference through the entire vape.

My Thoughts

This one has hit the mark big time! While it might not be a spot on realistic blackcurrant, it does fill that expectation that everybody has about what a blackcurrant should be.

Most of us associate a blackcurrant with a sweeter more candy based flavour rather than it’s tart and sharp natural berry flavour, and that is exactly what we have got!

Covering both hard candy and gummy candy notes, this flavour has quite a full profile even though it is such a simple flavour.

You’re flavour memory may be different to mine, but to me this is a spot on replica of “grape candy millions” or “purple zappos” just without the sourness, with a little “Ribena” blended in for good measure!
