eJuice Review 12: Hawk Sauce by Mount Baker Vapor
As promised, more juice reviews!
Today I am reviewing the famous “Hawk Sauce” by Mt Baker Vapor.
I am going to preface this review by mentioning that my readers will have noted in the past that Menthol flavours are not my favourite.
Well, a funny thing has happened. I don’t know whether it is because of summer around the corner or my palette is a little tired of creamy dessert mixes, but lately I have indeed been reaching for the more cleaner, refreshing, fruity/menthol mixes.
This bottle of Hawk sauce that I have in my hand at the moment is quite old, about 5 months I would say. When I bought it, I intended on reviewing straight away, but just didn’t get around to it (real life and all of those excuses). I did try it, and for some reason, never refilled my tank in order to give it enough of a chance to warm to it.
Now that I have picked it up again, it is one of my favourites. It will now be one of my first to reach for when wanting that refreshing summer vape.
Flavour profile:
From Mt Baker’s website: “Hawk Sauce is a complex blend of sweet and slightly sour berries, with a light hint of cool menthol. Mixed with inspirations drawn from the Pacific Northwest, Hawk Sauce e-juice is a delightfully refreshing and deliciously fruity vape.”
The Fruits:
Straight off the bat, I get a melon flavour, I could be wrong, but that is what my taste buds are telling me, along with a flowery fruit, perhaps lychee. Hawk Sauce definately has some type of berry in it also, as going from this to one of my blackberry/raspberry mixes, I get no flavour. The tartness is missing so I am going to guess that they put a little blackberry in it or a tarty raspberry.
The Menthol:
The amount of menthol is a little cool for me. I like to put just enough in my mixes to add a freshness to my juice, so this is a little stronger for me. Not a deal breaker at all, perhaps they use a little koolada.
Texture:
Hawk sauce is simply refreshing. No creaminess, no other texture besides the cool fruits on inhale and exhale. It is a wholesome flavour, that is quite obviously a complex mix. You do not get the impression of a simple mix here.
Throat hit:
Fairly strong throat hit.
Vapour:
I don’t know what Mt Baker has done here, as even their high PG mixes seem to put out their fair share of vapour.
Presentation:
The usual Mt Baker plastic dropper bottle with blue cap.
