eLiquid Review 289: FAQ – Coney Apple from Apollo Ecigs

You know, for a long while I’ve thought of American eliquids as being overflavoured, full of sweeteners and total coil gunkers. But this week has shown me that there are some gems in the rough, there are some eliquid suppliers that really know their stuff and take pride in developing delicate mixes that can cater to all tastes.

Apollo is one of them. Their diverse range of flavours in their many juice lines are a prime example of a company that really cares about not only putting out tasty flavours, but juices that are layered and don’t destroy your coils.

Today I’m onto the last of the samples that were sent to me, and if the previous reviews are anything to go by, this is going to be awesome!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Coney Apple” from the FAQ range of eliquids!

This juice was supplied by the vendor.

From the website:

Coney Apple is a crisp, sweet green apple covered in rich, gooey caramel.

The Review:

Ive thoroughly enjoyed this one, but I do have to say, I’ve a slightly different experience with this one than the description provides.

Where you’d expect a bit of a richer vape from the crisp apple and caramel in the description, I’m getting a much smoother milkier experience.

To me, “Coney Apple” is a smooth and creamy custard with a touch of caramel and a crisp apple shining through adding a clean, fruity contrast.

Individual Notes

The custard is a sweet, thick and creamy custard. I get a little vanilla, but not as much as I normally would with a custard which leads me to believe that there is a little sweet cream or whipped cream here also.

The caramel is sweet and rich with its signature lightly burnt note. There’s not a lot here and it’s added more as a feature nuance to add that little bit of oomph to the custard cream.

The apple is very much a granny smith fleshy type of flavour. The textured grittiness is here but not over the top, and it really adds that crisp and lightly acidic feel in contrast to the sweeter and smoother creams.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is all custard, caramel and creams, it’s sweet and silky smooth, with only the tiniest amount of apple showing through.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale I find the creams intensifying, as does the caramel introducing a little gooey decadence and working seamlessly with the smooth creams.

Just as I begin to feel that the creams are the final note, the sweet and crisp apple picks up, contrasting with the creamy exhale and providing that extra level of texture. The grittiness matches the smoothness of the inhale and drives this juice home with a well rounded full mouth feel.

Final thoughts

Another hit here from Apollo, and one that is not only thick and decadent, but layered and light enough to be an all day vape. You won’t get tired of this one!

Great work guys!

The labels are really professional and have this cool reflective, almost foil print on them. Of course with name and logo front and centre, with all of the information on them you’ll ever need. In fact, there are a tonne of warnings and even the flavour description printed on the labels, which I find quite handy!

HAKU RDA with single SS316L coil @ 0.29ohms on a regulated mod running 50-80 watts.
