eLiquid Review 291: 5159 by Priority Blends

I really can’t believe that it has taken me so long to get around to trying some of Priority Blend’s flavours. They’ve been around for what seems like forever, they’re stocked in a tonne of stores, physical and online, and I’m always seeing hand-checks on social media with their bottles.

I’ve even said to myself that I will pick some up next time I’m in one of my local vape stores… about 100 times!

So, due to me being absolutely useless, and unintentionally avoiding these superb flavours, Priority Blends have had to send me some to even get a look in, or so it seems!

So let’s get moving…

Today I’ll be reviewing “5159”!

This juice was supplied by the vendor.

From the website:

5159 is a Fruit Salad flavored e-liquid, a unique blend of fresh tropical fruits, apple, mango and nectarine.

The Review:

For the first juice out of the box, I wanted to start with something fruity, something that will give me an idea of what Priority Blends can do with a handful of fruits, and how delicate a hand they are at mixing something that takes a bit of blood sweat and tears. Fruits can be unforgiving, and getting the levels right can be downright frustrating!

Well, they’ve come through with flying colours, because, “5159” is a delicious blend of sweet ripe mangos, tart green apple and juicy nectarine that satisfies the fruit cravings whilst providing a really well balanced and full bodied juice.

Individual Notes

There are 3 primary flavours in this mix although I do suspect a few other supporting notes.

Mango is the first, it’s sweet, ripe and juicy, carrying with it a light earthy tone reminiscent of the real thing.

Nectarine is second, it is sweet also, but a different kind of sweetness and it works well to counter the mango and pull it back from making things too sugary. It is fleshy with hints of skin giving it a little depth and dimension.

Last but not least is the apple. From what I can tell, it’s a crisp green apple, acidic yet juicy, introducing a little bit of sourness, keeping the other fruits in line and adding that refreshed mouth feel.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale seems to be mainly mango and nectarine. The stonefruits dominate a little here, making the inhale a fleshy and almost syrupy sweet fruit base. There really is only the slightest hint of apple.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, everything intensifies, with the apple strengthening against the other fruits pulling back the syrupy feel and introducing a little tartness and acidity. It freshens and cleanses the palate, but doesn’t intrude or overtake the stonefruits. The nectarine also lifts a little here too, showing off more of its skin tone contrasting against the mango.

The end of the exhale is a lovely mix of all three, creating a great sweet fruit salad or mixed fruit juice feel.

Final thoughts

This one is perfect for a summer’s day, while relaxing in the shade, wintery nights in front of the fire, pretty much any time, because it’s just an all-round great mix.

There is no flavour loss at all, even after a few days. It’s one of those flavours you automatically turn to, knowing that it will be a great vape in any device, and at any time. One of those “old-reliables” you turn to without a second thought.

Great work Big Dave!
