eJuice Review 63: Santorini Sunrise by Vagabond Vapour

santorinisunrise_1024x1024Here is a juice Ive been looking forward to all week, as I really love anise, and licorice flavours.

Today I’m reviewing Santorini Sunrise!
You can pick up the Vagabond Vapour range at any good Aussie vape store or from their website @ https://vagabondvapour.com

From the website:

“Take it from this old salt, nothing ever happens quickly in Santorini… so sleep in, take a slow walk to the nearest taverna and settle in for a lazy morning of mezze washed down with a refreshing glass of ouzo.
FLAVOUR PROFILE: An intricate blend of Aegean Anise, Cardamom and Cloves poured over ice (just like Ouzo)”

The Review:

I really like anise based flavours, many don’t, but I do. I find them refreshing and a little bit of a treat for myself every now and then.

Vagabond released Santorini Sunrise a while ago now, and I promised myself I’d try it out. Which of course never happened as I got on a bit of a custard kick for a while.

Now ive got the chance to give it a crack, Ive been chomping at the bit all week to get stuck in.

Does it meet my expectation? Absolutely! It’s anise! It’s clean, crisp, and did I mention anise?

It really does remind me of ouzo on ice, just without the alcohol.

I do get a lot of menthol from it, which kind of drowns out the anise, but there is still plenty to tickle the tastebuds. I also get a little bit of citrus come through, which is a nice surprise, it really works here.
The clove is nicely done. Not easily noticeable, more of a supporting note. Which actually suits me because I hate clove in big doses.

On inhale, I get an ice cold blast of menthol, followed by a lovely citrus and anise mix.
On exhale the citrus dies off and I’m left with a nice cold mentholated anise again.

A lovely, lovely summer vape, for those with the tastebuds to appreciate anise and/or licorice type flavours.

I do have to say, this is a really well balanced juice that I’m sure, Vagabond slaved over. Anise is not easy to work with, and getting the citrus and clove to sit just right would have taken a lot of mixing sessions. Throw in the fact that anise can fade in strength over time, means getting a mix like this right, is quite an effort.

Thankyou Vagabond, for your hard work 🙂
