eJuice Review 142: Coorong Cola by Bogan Brews

IMG_20170123_184433-01Now that I’ve reviewed a few overseas eliquids, let’s get back into some locally made flavours.
Who better to start with than a juice line that is 100% without doubt the epitome of Aussie.

He’s been at the forefront of the Australian vaping community for years, provided us with countless top notch hardware and eliquid reviews via his YouTube channel, and helped our little community to no end with his wisdom and advice on all things vaping.

Up for review is our very own Vaping Bogan’s eliquid range, “Bogan Brews”.

If you want to try out this epic Aussie range get on over to bogan brews at http://www.boganbrews.com.au, Vapoureyes (http://www.vapoureyes.com.au), or any good brick and mortar store around the country.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Coorong Cola”!

From the website:

Coorong Cola; Cola, bloody cola! A hard candy cola vape with a refreshing fizzy finish.

From the Vaping Bogan:

“I wanted to create a decent cola, a tad of hard candy cola and just a smidge of the classic soda drink. Coorong cola to me tastes like cola lolly pops with a nice fizzy, cooling finish.”

The Review:

Here’s the Bogan Brews flavour that everyone is talking about. It seems to have succeeded every other cola out there, and is the first to be recommended when someone asks for the name of a cola vape.

The fanfare is not all for naught, it is an excellent cola. This is your classic sweet cola syrup. The stuff that you get served at many fast food chains. It has that thick syrupy dimension to it, loads of sweetness, a touch of fizziness and an aftertaste of old school cola hard candies.

The flavour level on this one is great, it has a real in your face hit.

I won’t pick apart the various nuances, I’d be here all day, but for those that did not know, here’s a fun fact for you all about cola as a flavour.

Cola is primarily made using the following ingredients: Coca leaves, Vanilla, Cinnamon, citrus oils and acids. Different trace flavours such as nutmeg have been known to be added to create unique cola varieties by many of the manufacturers that we all know and love.

Now having provided you with all of that fairly useless information, Ive created a really terrible Segway, in order to mention that I get quite a noticeable lime nuance from Coorong Cola.

Unless it was pointed out, many probably wouldn’t notice, but it’s there, it is what provides the bite to this flavour and somewhat counters the thick vanilla and cinnamon. It’s much more noticeable the more you vape it and get used to the other notes. Look out for it, you may pick up on it too!

Inhale, as with most flavours, is quite a subtle version of what you will get on the exhale. It’s syrupy, sweet and totally cola.

Exhale sees the flavour really pick up and that syrup really take hold. It’s toward the end of the vape I notice the hit of lime, adding a little citrus tartness, and cleansing the palate as it increases in level.

I’m really impressed with this, I do not detect any added sweeteners but the whole mix still has quite a sweet finish.
It hasnt gunked my coils or wicks at all, and trust me, that is big feat for any cola.

Well done Mr Bogan, top drop this one.

Steeping is not necessary here, but may be a good idea in order to allow the full flavour to calm and even out.

Presentation:

I love whats been done with these bottles. Intentional or not the brown tinted glass/plastic bottles resemble the very same coloured bottles our Aussie beer icon (VB) comes in. (and other beers also of course)
The labels are clear with white text, obviously printed, but made to look like it’s been scrawled on with a white liquid paper pen with little doodles (pictures) drawn about the label. Very Australian, given our laid back attitude to such things.
The 30ml bottles are glass with a white, glass eye dropper lid, whilst the larger sizes are all plastic with the twisted sauce bottle style lids.
I also received a “Bogan Brews” stubby holder, (in picture) trust me, that is going to come in handy!
It’s all brilliantly bogan 🙂

Test rigs:

Odis O-Atty with single ss contact coil @ 0.2ohms on a coppervape mod and/or Frankenskull clone.
