Wirice Launcher Mini Tank Review

Wirice Launcher Mini Tank Review

Backed by Hellvape, Wirice branched off a while ago with their first release, the “Launcher tank“. It was a bit of a history making release too, with the tank taking on traditional ideas, and turning them on the head with their top loading coil system. Well, they’re back again, and this time with a follow up to their original design, actually a little brother more like!

Let’s check out Wirice’s Launcher Mini Tank!

Big thanks goes to Vaporstate, who sent this out for the purposes of review!

General Info & Features

The Launcher Mini as it is called, is certainly that, a smaller version of the launcher tank, but it’s not just the size that differs. The “Mini” also caters to a slightly different crowd than the original Launcher did.
This time around, Wirice are targeting Mouth to Lung vapers with the Launcher Mini, and a nice tight MTL airflow on a smaller fully functional Launcher Tank is certainly nothing to joke about!

That’s right besides the airflow and the size, the Launcher Mini carries all of the great features that the original did, just in a smaller size! Fixed 510 pin, check! Airflow adjustment ring, check! Anti leaking feature, check! Top fill, check! Top loading coil system, check! It’s all there and it all works just as well!

The version I received is all satin black, while it is painted, this is super durable. I’ve not been able to scratch it yet. It’s your typical top cap/glass tube/bottom deck type of tank, with removeable drip tip at the top, nice clear glass to see your e-liquid level easily through, and a bottom airflow ring with x4 different sized single holes, and a larger cyclops style airflow option all on the one side.

The Coils & How to change them

The coil replacement system in the Launcher Mini is truly genius and has not been done outside of the Launcher range as far as I’m aware. The entire spring loaded top part of the chimney below the drip tip unscrews revealing the drop in coil. This spring loaded chimney also blocks off liquid as you release it in order to avoid any leakage when removing the coil. Nicely done.

Putting a new coil in is just as simple and is the reverse of removal. Drop in your coil, screw down the spring loaded chimney, put your drip tip back on and away you go.

You do not even have to remove the fill port cap. Its all a separate system.

The Launcher mini comes with x2 different drop in coils, one mesh, and one standard kanthal. Both coils are really long lasting, I’ve yet to have either of them drop in flavour or have any of them burn out. I have been using some pretty clean juices of late however, so mileage may vary.

  • T3-01 0.7Ω Coil
This is the mesh coil, and it works superbly in either MTL or restricted DTL airflow settings, on a range of wattages.
It’s best suited for 14-18 Watts, but can go slightly higher as long as you’re pulling sufficient air in to avoid any burnage.
  • T3-02 1.2Ω Coil
This coil is the would kanthal coil, it’s your lower wattage/powered coil and it’s recommended that you stick to between 8-13 Watts for this one.

Filling

Just like the original, the Launcher mini is too easy to fill. Unscrewing the disk around the base of the drip tip, offers up two large kidney shaped fill ports that’ll let you fill with even a dropper bottle. The actual cap/ring that is removed, has a seal over the entire underside of the cap, so you can be certain, no eliquid is escaping those fill ports.
Filling can be a bit of a pain with that drip tip in the way, so it’s a good thing it’s removable. It also has a couple small notches in the base to make sure it locks in nice and sturdy!

Airflow

The airflow is quite nice, considering that this seems to try to cater to both tight mouth to lung vapers, and restricted direct to lung vapers alike. Underneath the airflow ring, you’ll find x4 different sized holes, as well as an additional cyclops style slot that are exposed as you swivel the airflow ring around. Every one of those holes have been purposely sized, with MTL and DTL users in mind, and to be honest, Wirice have succeeded where many have failed. With the combination of hole sizes that it has, this tank really can cater to both MTL vapers and DTL vapers too!

On fully closed (the smallest hole) you’ll get a really nice tight MTL draw. Then as you swing through the airflow options, slowly getting more open as you go, you’ll eventually get to the cyclops slot, which allows a nice (not completely open) restricted DTL vape, where you can give the coils a bit of a stretch on a slightly higher wattage, for a lovely little DTL vape.

If you like MTL or RDTL, they are both here!

Any Leaks?

Absolutely none at all. This is very much a leak free tank. I do get the occasional gurgle from time to time, that is mainly when I’ve left it sitting however. Nothing to complain about here at all.

Pros:

  • Excellent flavour
  • Styling is great
  • Size is nice
  • Top removable coils
  • E-liquid control when changing coils
  • Airflow options are fantastic
  • Easy top fill

Cons:

  • Top fill cap can be a little difficult to remove

Where to Buy:

Where would we be without our Aussie vape stores! You can pick up the Wirice Launcher tank locally from Vaporstate’s online store. They’ve got them listed for the $55 AUD mark, which is an excellent price.

Conclusion

This is a fantastic little MTL tank, and something that is really simple to just pick up and use. The coils are long lasting, flavourful, and super simple to change out whenever you want, even if you still have a full tank of eliquid.

I’ve been quite enjoying this tank, it’s a great small size for a MTL tank, small enough to put on most regulated tubes, or petite built in battery devices. I particularly like that they’ve stayed true to the Launcher’s set of unique features because they not only work so well, but also truly set these tanks apart from all others on the market.

A great little tank that I highly recommend, if you’re looking for a MTL tank that takes pre-made coils!!

Great work Wirice!
