KGB Kotton (Cotton) Review

KGB Kotton (Cotton) Review

Let’s take a look at something a little different from the usual e-liquids and hardware today. You’ve seen it around, it’s picking up speed over social media, and everyone seems to be talking about it.

Yep, you know what I’m talking about. KGB Kotton (cotton).

Let’s take a look!

The Review

KGB Kotton is claimed to be directly sourced from Russia, “collected” in Siberia is mentioned.

It’s a 100% pure organic cotton, un-spoilt by chemicals, bleaching, or any processing methods that might take away from the cotton’s wicking properties.

Inside the tin, you’ll find a 1 metre length of cotton rope coiled up neatly, and ready for use!

It features:

  • Heat resistant
  • 100% Pure organic cotton
  • No break in time
  • No cotton flavour
  • Fast eliquid absorption

So what do I think?

I’ve been using this cotton exclusively ever since it was sent out, and I have to say, I am very impressed. While many say that there really isn’t any difference between cottons, I think there is.

As you know, I reviewed Cloud 9’s cotton a little while ago, and the consistency between the two cottons is night and day.

While KGB is smooth and quite fluffy and has quite a volumous feel, it also has a bit of crunch to it. The fibres are quite fine and straight as you’d expect from it’s rope form, give it a squeeze and you’ll notice a distinct squeak or crunch from this cotton, giving a much more un-processed feel to them. It’s perhaps a little ‘dryer’ than other cottons, that could be a contributing factor.

The thickness of the rope is excellent, I primarily use 3mm inner diameter coils and I can wick a coil with just under half of the width of the rope.
So one short length will get both of your coils wicked with barely any left over as wastage.

Its super simple to cut, and manipulating it is a breeze, I’ve found myself not even needing to thin it out, as it squeezes into quite a small size when compacted too. Choking of your coil is not an issue with this cotton. I’ve found even with a really tight wick, it manages to keep a little moisture there, making this easier to use for beginners and those who like to pack their wicking fairly tight.

I’ve noticed zero break in time needed, as this cotton has no taste what-so-ever. Other cottons like Cotton Bacon take a little while to break in, and to get rid of any residual cotton flavour, but not this one. Wick it and vape it.

With zero cotton flavour, you can be sure to get the most flavour out of your e-liquid. You’ll not have to worry to much about wicking either, as this has quite a good capillary action pulling the e-liquid along the fibres really well. The wick really does hold juice, it holds it so well, that you’ll get right down to almost zero liquid in your wick before you realise you’re even dry.
And even when you do, the dry hits just don’t happen like they do with other cottons.

As you can tell, I’m quite impressed with this cotton, and I’ll keep using it because I really love that I can vape this almost completely dry, before I notice much of a drop off in vapour. It’s super easy to work with and has a really clean profile.

I totally see why this cotton is getting such a great following, and I’ll be recommending it myself going forward, it does it’s job and does it very well!

Presentation

The presentation and packaging of this cotton is amazing! It comes in a really cool satin black tin, with a large professional full colour sticker on the front depicting KGB Kotton as well as various selling points. Heat resistant, 100% pure cotton, Primium grade.

KGB has some killer branding, using Soviet war era imagery, stylish but also carefully chosen as to not offend. C’mon if you don’t get the cotton for how good it is, you’ll end up getting it just for the tin!!!

Where to Buy:

You can purchase KGB Kotton from the Secret Bunker Vapour online store, or through any of their MANY stockists. This cotton is getting picked up by most vape stores, so keep an eye out for it at your local!
