eLiquid Review 452: Honeydew Dreams by Butler’s Choice Eliquids

Two down, two to go! So far Butler’s Choice have shown themselves to know their way around eliquids. With the first two flavours being rich and decadent desserts, the next flavour is something a little different.

There’s not a lot of this type of profile out there, well not in Australia anyway! So let’s see how today’s flavour travels!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Honeydew Dreams” by Butler’s Choice Eliquids.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

A great addition to our collection is the Honeydew Melon added with a hint of Sweet Yoghurt and Cooling, a must try!

The Review

I have to admit, there are a lot of honeydew based flavours out there, but what sets this one apart from the rest is the addition of yogurt!

If you’ve ever tried a yogurt in vape form, you’ll find that they are quite unusual and a little difficult to get used to. They don’t necessarily convert to an eliquid very well.

I’m happy to report though, that Butler’s Choice have done a wonderful job with this one, retaining that yogurt feel without it getting out of hand and potentially spoiling the rest of the flavour.

It’s primarily a creamy honeydew, thick and smooth, with a slight sharpness from the taller points of the honeydew and a less prominant yet genuine tang from the yogurt.

Individual Notes

The honeydew is sweet, yet not as sweet as many other honeydew mixes, it’s fleshy, and fruity, with that distinct powdery texture without being dry at all.

The Yogurt is creamy, thick and silky, very smooth, all the while tangy. This one in particular does a great job of being nice and creamy and thick, without letting the tang overplay that nice rounded out texture.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is honeydew, very much entirely honeydew, with a slight thick creaminess that makes this less of a fruit flavour, and more of a dessert right from the start. The honeydew and cream intensify together gradually building in flavour, the cream rounding out the honeydew while still allowing that fruity tang to prevail at the top of the inhale.

Flipping to the exhale, things begin to thicken up a lot more as the base of the yoghurt kicks in with it’s creamier than usual texture letting a little bit of sourness excape just to give you a hint of the true yoghurt profile.

As the exhale continues, the honeydew as well as the cream and yoghurt begin to meld quite well, blending almost seamlessly into a sweet and smooth full mouth feel with the sweetness from the honeydew carrying over to the cream, and the yoghurt retaining that slight tartness, and tangy texture.

Final thoughts

This is an excellent example of a yoghurt done right. From it’s thick creamy low notes, to the slight tang on the exhale and the fruity sweetness from the honeydew, there’s no doubt this is a flavour that everyone can enjoy.

I particularly like that honeydew was chosen as a fruit, I think it’s an interesting fruit to blend with a yoghurt, but it works really well. I think that a slightly cleaner honeydew might have given a little more impact, as this one does seem to come across a little muddled after vaping it for a while, but that’s just a small thing and probably only me, since I’m being extra picky.

All in all, a fantastic flavour guys, you’ve done really well with this one, keeping the yoghurt vibe without it knocking out the sharper fruit. Well done.

No issues with wicks or coils with this one. It’s relatively clean for a creamy flavour.

Presentation:

Butler’s Choice eliquids are presented really well. I received dark tinted 60ml bottles, not original Gorilla bottles, but very close, and are very good quality. The caps were relatively easy to remove for adding nicotine, and they have screw down child-proof caps and needle tip nozzles.

The labels are professionally designed, dark with a nice background, and the butlers choice badge front and centre, along with the colour coded eliquid flavour name. A nice touch I thought were the randomly placed tiny icons depicting each flavour in the background of the label.

All of the information you might need is right there on the label. Bottle size, PG/VG percentage, Ingredients as well as a 0mg ‘zero’ nicotine statement.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
