eLiquid Review 492: Berry Cereal from Butler’s Choice

eLiquid Review 492: Berry Cereal from Butler’s Choice

I’m getting away from the lighter flavours for the next few days, and getting stuck into some nice heavy flavourings. Today’s flavour is a bit of a surprising profile, and not quite what you might expect.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Berry Cereal” from Butlers Choice Eliquid.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]

“A delicious range from our collection is the Berry Cereal. A nice mixture of all sorts of berries, creams and fresh milk. This one is very tasteful and fresh.”

The Review

I was really surprised by this flavour, for some reason I had a really light almost fruit loops expectation, but instead this one blew me a way!

“Berry Cereal” has a really thick, deep profile, quite a complex cereal drives this one, with hints of sugared corn flakes, backed up by a complimentary bran like deeper note, that really makes this cereal feel like it’s a very complex blend. This is all the base for the wonderfully sweet and jammy berry combination that peeks through turning this into quite an intricate and full flavoured blend.

Individual Notes

The cereal is a fantastic mix. It’s complex, full bodied, textured, and does a really great job of mimicking chowing down on some tasty corn/bran flakes doused in a healthy amount of creamy milk.

Also in the mix is a berry combination. It’s most definitely a strawberry / raspberry / blueberry mix that is both realistic and very well put together. Thicker base notes with a little jammy feel, makes for the perfect addition to the cereal, and really does come through at just the right consistency.

A creamy milk also makes an appearance in this blend. It’s quite good and mixed with the cereal and berries gives a very authentic kick to the whole flavour. Not quite a sweet cream, but washes over the mix like the milk left in the bottom of a bowl of cereal.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is quite strongly, a cereal based mix, not quite frosted corn flakes, and not quite bran flakes, but somewhere in between. It’s sweet and has dimension to it, with low notes and mid tones coming together to compliment. I also notice a little back note of strawberry. It’s very much strawberry ripe flavour, natural, almost roasted, without the usual sharp tartness you get from fresh ones. Of course this intensifies and reaches a peak right at the end of the inhale.

At this point and on through the exhale, I notice that the strawberry receives a little backup from a few other berries, I’m guessing some lower toned raspberry and a touch of blueberry, just to bolster that berry finish with a deeper jammy feel. The berries are blended perfectlin and create a feeling as though they are breaking through the cereal, making for quite a nice profile. Sweeter and thicker than many other cereal flavours.

As the exhale continues so does this match of cereal and berry blends while some sweet creaminess appears. It’s thick, but not overly and with the berry and cereals already present clings to them giving the illusion of an “end of the bowl” milk tone.

The end of the exhale is quite milky and reminds me of scooping smaller spoonful’s of cornflakes or bran flakes from the bottom of the bowl. Solid enough to scoop up but saturated by milk and sugar just the way I like it!

Final thoughts

There is a lot of flavour here, and it also has a lot of dimension to it, making this one a complex tasting mix.

I really like that multiple cereals have been blended to create that rich frosted corn flakes feel with a slightly deeper bran type of finish.

This whole flavour comes together very well, with the creams creating an almost perfect “end of the bowl” milk, and the berries at just that right level of intensity, to peek through the cereals without taking over and dominating.

There really is nothing to pick on with this one, I’ve enjoyed it very much, it’s a top notch flavour!

Well done guys!

As always, Butler’s Choice have some pretty professional packaging. I received 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled clear bottles with black child-proof, crack seal lid. These bottles have needle tip dispensers, and are made from a harder plastic, so a little more difficult to squeeze.

The labels are the same as the flavours that I reviewed a while ago, black with a patterned background, with little tiny icons floating around that match the flavour. The usual information is available on the label, logo, juice name in flavour oriented colours, size, VG/PG ratio, Ingredients list, and keep out of reach of children warnings.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
