eJuice Review 372: Salted Caramel by Redback Vapery
Today, we’ve arrived at the last of the flavour reviews for Redback Vapery. All in all I’ve found their juices to be not only of great quality but also having quite the variety of flavours. From tobaccos to fruits and desserts, their range has something for everybody.
This review is of a profile that I’ve never come across before in vape form, let’s see what we’ve got!
Today, I’ll be reviewing “Salted Caramel” by Redback Vapery.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)
Flavour Description
This sweet and savory eliquid is a decadent flavor experience unlike anything you’ve vaped before.
The Review:
Salted Caramel is quite a popular flavour now-a-days, there is Salted Caramel ice cream, milk shakes, even sweets. There is just something about adding salt to a typical sweet dessert that gets the taste buds going crazy!
Redback describe this one as a decadent, sweet and savoury eliquid, and that it is. “Salted Caramel” is a sweet and smooth, rich caramel, both syrupy and creamy, with a light salting on the exhale to give it that real contrast of texture.
Individual Notes
I really like the caramel notes in this juice, it’s rich and decadent without being over the top and sickly. That’s actually quite rare for a caramel based flavour.
It feels like there is a custard in here too, it’s obviously not as noticeable as the caramel, but there is that unmistakeable custard nuance, creamy and flavour-some that just can’t be denied. A great idea to add it as it adds even more depth to the flavour.
I don’t notice the salt as much as I would like, it is a little elusive, but it is there. Of course getting a real saltiness to a sweet eliquid would not be the easiest task, so there can be a little forgiveness for that. Also, I can imagine that too much salt would make this quite an over the top flavour, so I can live with the minimal saltiness.
Inhale & Exhale
The inhale is an instant hit of rich caramel, it’s quite syrupy to begin with, sweet yet not overly so. It is more a decadent caramel than an in your face sugar feast. At the top of the inhale, a little bit of creamy custard comes through also, it’s only a little but makes for quite a pleasant mix.
At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, the caramel and custards intensify, getting even richer as the vape continues. The caramel with it’s sweet sugary tones, and the custard with it’s slightly dryer but creamier notes are great companions and have quite a depth to them when used together.
As the exhale continues, a little saltiness creeps in, definitely not overbearing, and quite dialed back, I think it is at a nice level, just to add that bit of savoury, whilst keeping the sweetness of the caramel dominant.
Final thoughts
All in all, this is a really nice caramel with a twist, something that I’ve never seen done before, and a great effort in capturing the classic “Salted Caramel” profile. As I mentioned earlier, it would have been nice for the saltiness to be a little more prominent, but I also understand why this is a very difficult task.
The caramel is rich and decadent, quite syrupy, and the addition of the custard creates more depth of flavour.
If you love your salted caramel, this is a must try!
Great work on this one guys!

Presentation:
Quite nice presentation here. I received 30ml stubby chubby gorilla bottles with childproof caps, and needle tip nozzles. Some of the bottles are clear, others are smokey grey clear with the Redback Vapery label firmly affixed. The labels are white with splashes of colour, the liquid name, company logo, bottle size and vg/pg ratio. I would have like to see some warnings or standard ingredients list on here, the information on the labels is a little sparse.
Test rigs:
Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
