eJuice Review 368: 2BAC by Redback Vapery

Tobacco vapes are usually the flavours that new vapers head straight for when they are just quitting the cigarettes. It’s something familiar, to satisfy their cravings and make them feel as though they are still smoking. Today’s juice is one of Redback Vapery’s flagship eliquids, one that has been praised for it’s balance and smoothness as well as it’s similarity to a certain brand of tobacco.

Let’s dive in!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “2BAC” by Redback Vapery.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

This classic tobacco e-liquid will satisfy the palate of even the pickiest tobacco vaper. Its balanced, rich profile is ideal for vapers used to the classic, smooth drum tobacco taste.

The Review:

As I’ve said before in previous reviews, tobacco is not really my thing, but I can appreciate the intricacies and depth of flavour involved in creating a tobacco juice. There’s a certain masculinity and richness to tobacco, and it’s one of those flavours that you can sit back and appreciate with a strong glass of whatever you have in the cocktail cabinet.

I’ll admit, I actually didn’t like this one when I started vaping it. Hate is probably too strong of a word for it though. The profile just didn’t fit with me. I did like the depth of the flavour, just not the flavour itself. Now that I’ve been vaping it for two days, it’s kind of warmed on me.

I will say that I’ve found this to be more of a pipe tobacco flavour than a roll your own. It has a richness to it that a “rollie” doesn’t have.

“2Bac” is a rich, deep flavoured tobacco, a little nutty, and a whole lot ‘smokey’, it has quite a full impression that sucks you in with it’s warm notes and well balanced profile.

Individual Notes

A few things have gone into this flavour, they’re not immediately apparent and are quite hard to pick. They also do not present themselves as completely separate flavours, more hints of notes that help make up the entire profile.

The tobacco in here is smokey, it’s a dry note with a slight nuttiness. Some grassy nuances are also present giving it that real tobacco feel and giving things a bit of substance.

There is a real caramel feel here too. Not immediately noticeable, as you kind of concentrate on the tobacco when vaping it, but it’s there and adds to the richness of this flavour.

The caramel feels a little sticky and honey-like also, which leads me to believe that there are far more ingredients in this, than first thought.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I’m hit by the tobacco straight away, it’s a dry and smokey tobacco, that is quite a powerhouse, full textured and really filling my mouth.

Toward the end of the inhale and onto the exhale, I notice the richer notes begin to kick in, first is the nuttiness that comes from the tobacco, it’s not a full blown nut, definitely not even a distinguishable peanut/hazelnut or any other type, it has it’s own unique profile, but that nutty feel all the same.

Next comes the caramel, and honey, adding a little bit of a syrupy stickiness to the mix, but not overdoing it, they provide a sticky sweetness at the same time, that full thick texture that only a caramel could. A little smokey themselves, these two add that richness that follows through right until the end of the exhale.

Final thoughts

It took me a while to appreciate this one, but I found it in the end, I suppose I was preoccupied with the tobacco, rather than seeing the smoother richer notes that follow up on the exhale, but when I did, this became a whole different flavour!

I still believe that this is more of a “Drum” pipe tobacco, than a roll your own, due to it’s stickiness, and fuller flavour, and it’s a pretty good one too.

The only con that I have with “2Bac”, is the grassy notes that come through. I haven’t really mentioned them much, as they do come with all tobaccos, but I would have like to see the caramel and honey be embraced a little more. This one has the potential to be a really rich caramel tobacco, if those grassy notes could somehow be lessened.

All in all though, this one hits the mark as well as a tobacco flavour could, no tobacco flavour is going to be perfect, but I think this does a pretty good job of replicating a pipe tobacco.

Nice work guys!

Presentation:

Quite nice presentation here. I received 30ml stubby chubby gorilla bottles with childproof caps, and needle tip nozzles. Some of the bottles are clear, others are smokey grey clear with the Redback Vapery label firmly affixed. The labels are white with splashes of colour, the liquid name, company logo, bottle size and vg/pg ratio. I would have like to see some warnings or standard ingredients list on here, the information on the labels is a little sparse.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
