eLiquid Review 288: FAQ – Miss Samoa from Apollo Ecigs

So far I’m really liking the FAQ range of flavours, the last review saw me put a fruit salad based eliquid through it’s paces, but today, I have something a little different. This one is a decadent dessert profile, well let’s hope it will be!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Miss Samoa” from the FAQ range of eliquids!

This juice was supplied by the vendor.

From the website:

Miss Samoa is a crunchy cookie layered in caramel and chocolate, dusted with toasted coconut.

The Review:

If you’re looking for a kickass chocolate cookie flavour, you’ve found it. I’ve taken my time with this one, as I’ve enjoyed it quite a lot.

“Miss Samoa” is a delicious dryish chocolate cookie, with pockets of decadent caramel, and light flakes of toasted coconut dusted over the top for that little bit of extra something.

Individual Notes

The cookie base is the main note in this flavour. It is reminiscent of a light and thick, yet crunchy chocolate cookie. If you’re expecting a thin and snapping crunchy cookie, this is not it. I get more of a raised cookie, a little moist, but with a crumbly nature to it.

The chocolate, whilst described as being layered over the cookie, to me encompasses it. It really is a chocolate cookie, rather than a normal cookie dough, with chocolate layered on top of it. The chocolate is not moist enough to be a layering which is why I think it comes across as a chocolate cookie dough.

The caramel is interesting. This does layer, but I’m finding that it is taking on more of a caramel chip feel. You know when you sink your teeth into a chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate melts as your teeth sink into it? This is what the caramel is doing for me. Instead of caramel being drizzled over the top, it is included as pockets within the cookie dough.

Finally, onto the coconut. If there ever was a juice that used coconut effectively, it is this. The coconut here is flakey, light, and toasted. Definitely not overbearing, more a background note, or accent that adds a little bit of interest, barely there, yet providing that extra definition.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is mostly chocolate cookie, it’s quite light weight and doesn’t bog the flavour down with it’s base. Providing just the right amount of intensity, to retain dominance, but not so dominant as to not let any other nuance in.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, I notice the caramel first and foremost. It kind of pops in and out during the vape, very much like pockets of moistness similar to chocolate chips, but with gooey caramel instead. It’s quite a decadent addition, and sets the tone a little richer than the chocolate cookie alone can provide.

Toward the end of the exhale, hints of toasted coconut blend in lightly just adding that something extra to finish things off. It really does make a difference, providing even more dimension and completing an already brilliant flavour.

Final thoughts

It’s funny, because the description mentions cookie “layered in caramel and chocolate”, whereas I am getting more of a chocolate cookie, with pockets of caramel. The description is not far off, and I guess we all have differing experiences with interpreting flavours.

Either way, this is a really nice flavour that will satisfy even the most discerning dessert vaper. Rich, moist tones over the top of a dryish chocolate cookie base. Definitely one of those juices you vape in the evening to relax and indulge in a guilty pleasure!

In fact, there are a tonne of warnings and even the flavour description printed on the labels, which I find quite handy!
